About Axlura Accessibility
From the official readme · v1.2.0Description
Axlura Accessibility connects your WordPress site to your free Axlura account to help you find and fix web accessibility issues before they become a legal risk.
Web accessibility lawsuits under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) in the US, and compliance deadlines under the EAA (European Accessibility Act) in the EU, are both rising fast. Most sites fail basic WCAG 2.1 checks without realizing it — missing alt text, poor color contrast, unlabeled form fields, broken keyboard navigation, and incorrect heading structure.
This plugin is a free connector to your Axlura account:
- Automatic accessibility scanning — run a full WCAG 2.1 scan of your live site with one click, right from your WordPress dashboard.
- Plain-language issue reports — see exactly what’s wrong (missing alt text, low color contrast, heading order, form labels, and more), grouped by severity, with links to learn how to fix each one.
- Accessibility score — track your site’s compliance score over time as you fix issues.
- Visitor-facing accessibility widget — optionally show your visitors an accessibility toolbar (text resizing, contrast adjustment, and more), matching your site’s light or dark theme, positioned wherever you like.
- No restrictions in the free plugin — this plugin itself never limits scans, hides features, or shows a paywall. Your Axlura account plan controls scan frequency and site limits, managed entirely on axlura.com.
Who is this for?
- Agencies and freelancers who need to show clients real WCAG 2.1 / ADA / EAA compliance evidence, not just a green checkmark widget.
- Small business site owners who want an early warning before an accessibility complaint or demand letter arrives.
- Anyone who wants an accessibility score and issue list without leaving wp-admin.
Requirements
You need a free Axlura account and a Site Key (found on your Axlura dashboard under Sites) to connect this plugin. Creating an account and adding a site takes under a minute.
External services
This plugin connects to the Axlura API (axlura.com) to power the accessibility report and the visitor-facing widget. Axlura is the same service this plugin is a connector for; you must create a free Axlura account and Site Key for the plugin to do anything.
- Scan trigger and report fetch — when you click “Scan Now” or open the Accessibility settings page in wp-admin, your Site Key and site URL are sent to
https://axlura.com/api/wp-plugin-scan.phpandhttps://axlura.com/api/wp-plugin-report.phpto start a scan and retrieve the latest accessibility report. This only happens when an admin triggers it or views the settings page — never on front-end visitor page loads. - Site Key verification — your Site Key is sent to
https://axlura.com/api/verify-key.phpto check it is valid and to look up your account’s plan/trial status, whenever the settings page loads. - Accessibility widget — if you enable “Show the accessibility widget to visitors”, a script is loaded from
https://axlura.com/ag.min.json every front-end page for your visitors. No personal visitor data is sent to load this script beyond the standard request data any script tag sends (e.g. IP address, user agent), which axlura.com’s server sees like any web request.

Frequently asked questions
Does this plugin cost anything?
The plugin itself is completely free with no restrictions. Your Axlura account has a free trial and paid plans for higher scan frequency and more sites — that billing happens entirely on axlura.com, never inside this plugin.
Does this replace a manual accessibility audit?
No. Automated scanning (this plugin included) typically finds a meaningful share of WCAG 2.1 issues, but it is not a substitute for a full manual audit or legal advice, especially for ADA or EAA compliance decisions.
Will the accessibility widget make my site fully compliant on its own?
No single widget can guarantee full compliance. The widget helps visitors adjust their experience, but the real fix is addressing the underlying issues this plugin’s scanner reports — which is why the report and score are the core of this plugin, not just the widget.
Will this conflict with another accessibility plugin?
If you already run another accessibility widget/overlay plugin (for example one from UserWay, accessiBe, EqualWeb, Recite Me, or similar), you may see two floating accessibility buttons on your site at once. This plugin detects common accessibility-plugin slugs and shows a warning on the Accessibility settings page if it finds one active, but it never disables anything automatically — you choose which widget to keep. There is no conflict with page builders, caching, or SEO plugins; this plugin only adds one wp-admin menu page and one small external script tag in your site’s footer.
Where is my data stored?
Scan results are stored in your Axlura account on axlura.com, associated with the Site Key you connect. This plugin does not store your scan history in the WordPress database beyond a short-lived cache (5–10 minutes) to avoid repeated API calls.
