Every plugin and theme gets a score out of 100, recalculated from live WordPress.org data. No sponsored placements. No pay-to-rank.
- 25Update freshness Updated in the last 30 days scores full marks. Two years of silence scores zero.
- 20Compatibility Tested with the current WordPress release, or how far behind it is.
- 25User rating Star rating, weighted so 5 reviews can’t outrank 5,000.
- 15Support Share of support threads the developer resolved in the last two months.
- 15Adoption Active installs on a log scale — popular, but not everything.

How do I choose a safe WordPress plugin?
Check four things before you install: when it was last updated (ideally within 3 months), whether it’s tested with the current WordPress version, how many sites use it, and how quickly the developer answers support threads. Our health score rolls all four into one number from 0 to 100.
How is the health score calculated?
Each plugin and theme is scored out of 100: update freshness (25 points), WordPress compatibility (20), user rating weighted by review count (25), support threads resolved (15) and adoption by active installs (15).
How many WordPress plugins are there?
There are 69,494 free plugins and 8,652 free themes in the official WordPress.org directory today. This directory tracks every one of them.
How often is the data updated?
Continuously. Rankings, installs, downloads and ratings come straight from WordPress.org, so a new release or rating shows up here as soon as WordPress.org publishes it.
