OriginMark AI lets you clearly disclose which content on your website was created with the help of AI. Mark an image as AI-generated from the Media Library, and the plugin automatically overlays a small “AI Generated” badge on it wherever it appears on your live site — no manual editing of your content required.
Support for additional content types (starting with text) is planned for future releases, with the goal of covering AI-generated content across your whole site.

Why disclose AI-generated content?
Transparency around AI-generated content can help visitors understand how content on your website was created. In certain circumstances, EU law may require AI-generated or AI-manipulated content to be clearly disclosed. OriginMark AI provides a simple, non-destructive way to add a visible label to content you identify as AI-generated.
Installation
- Upload the plugin files to the
/wp-content/plugins/originmark-aidirectory, or install the plugin directly through the WordPress plugins screen. - Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” screen in WordPress.
- Go to Settings > OriginMark AI to choose your badge style, size, position, and offset.
- Open any image in your Media Library, check the “AI Generated” checkbox, and save.
- The badge will automatically appear on that image wherever it’s used in your published content.
Frequently asked questions
Does this modify or overwrite my original image files?
No. The badge is added dynamically to the HTML output when the page is displayed — your original image files are never modified.
Where does the badge appear?
Anywhere the marked image is output through post content (the_content). Images placed outside the main content (e.g. in a theme’s header or via custom template code) are not currently covered.
Can I use a custom badge icon?
Not yet — the plugin currently ships with three built-in badge styles (white, black, white-transparent). Custom icon uploads may be added in a future release.
Will this plugin support marking AI-generated text in the future?
Yes, this is planned. The current release focuses on images.
