Changelog
18.0
- Fix: on short desktop screens (a 1366×768 laptop, 1280×720) the open panel ran past the edge of the screen and hid its header with the close button. Its height is now capped to the room left by its position, and the content scrolls inside.
- Fix: the dyslexia font no longer breaks icon fonts. It was forced on every element, so icons drawn from a font (Font Awesome, Dashicons, Material, Bootstrap Icons) turned into empty boxes while the mode was on. Icon fonts are now left alone.
- Fix: with storage blocked (all cookies blocked, sandboxed iframe) or a corrupt saved value, the script stopped on load and the panel did nothing. It now works and simply doesn’t remember the settings.
17.9
- Fix: the panel now scrolls inside its own height. On short screens or at high text zoom the content used to push the header (close button) and footer (Reset All) off-screen, leaving the panel impossible to close. The content area is now a scrollable flex child (
flex:1 1 auto; min-height:0) while the header and footer stay pinned and reachable.
17.8
- New: a “Controls & profiles” section in the settings page lets you choose exactly which of the 17 controls the panel offers visitors (all shown by default) β untick the ones that do not apply to your site, and empty section headings disappear. The profile shortcuts (Low Vision, Dyslexia, Motor, No Distractions) can be turned off, and a profile auto-hides when curation leaves it with fewer than two of its controls.
- New: “Let visitors move the button” lets a visitor reposition the floating trigger within bounds (drag or arrow keys), persisted in their browser and kept on screen β an accessibility aid for reduced visual fields, screen magnifiers or one-handed reach.
- New: a “Porthole” trigger icon that frames the standard accessibility glyph in a ring without replacing it.
- Everything is opt-in: an existing install with default settings behaves exactly as before.
17.7
- Accessibility: multi-step controls (text size, line height, alignment, letter spacing, color-blind) now announce their current level to screen readers with a localized aria-label (“Size, level 2 of 4”) instead of only an on/off state, so a screen-reader user can tell level 1 from level 4. The panel’s own transitions and hover animations are now disabled under
prefers-reduced-motion.
17.6
- Fix: the Reset button cleaned the plugin’s body classes with a regex that split two-hyphen class names, leaving stray tokens like
-fontor-cursorbehind on the bodyclassattribute after every reset. Classes are now removed one by one viaclassList, scoped to theoks-namespace, so the body is left exactly as the plugin found it. Also aligns the internal version constant used for asset cache-busting, which had fallen behind the plugin version.
17.5
- Accessibility fix: while closed, the panel kept
aria-hidden="true"but still held focusable controls, which axe and Lighthouse flag asaria-hidden-focus(serious) β a keyboard or screen-reader user could reach controls inside something hidden from assistive tech, and it contradictedaria-modal. The closed state now uses theinertattribute instead, removing the panel from both the tab order and the accessibility tree. No change when the panel is open; the focus trap, Escape-to-close and focus return were already in place.
