About NB Analytics

NB Analytics shows where your visitors come from, which campaigns bring them, which sources bring sales, and when your site is busiest — inside WordPress, without cookies and without sending visitor data to anyone.
It is a simple, privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics for site owners who want clear answers instead of reports: did the WhatsApp message work? Which newsletter sold? When should the next campaign go out? Activate it and the numbers start coming in — no account, no tracking code to paste and no setup.
What you get
- Sources and campaigns — Google, Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, ChatGPT and other sources by name. A UTM-tagged link from WhatsApp, a newsletter or SMS is shown as its campaign, not as “Direct”, even when the app sends no referrer.
- Sales by source — every paid WooCommerce order is credited to the source that brought the buyer in that visit (a WhatsApp or email campaign counts under its source), and the order page shows the source and the campaign. Cancelled, failed or refunded orders are removed. Works with the classic and the Blocks checkout.
- Busy Hours — a heatmap of sessions by weekday and hour, and a 15-minute view for a single day: see when visitors come, and what happened after you sent a campaign.
- Accurate sessions — a visitor coming back within 30 minutes without a new source (back to the tab, or typing the address again), a buyer returning from an external payment page (PayPal, Stripe, Z-Credit, Cardcom, Tranzila and more) and automated email link scanners are not counted as new visits.
- Works with page caching — visits are counted on pages served from a full-page cache.
- Ad click IDs — Google Ads (gclid), Meta (fbclid), Microsoft (msclkid), TikTok (ttclid) and LinkedIn (li_fat_id).
- Visitors right now — how many people opened a page in the last 5 minutes, updated every 30 seconds on the dashboard.
- Devices, countries, landing pages and page flow.
- Daily summaries — the dashboard shows the last 30 days. Before older visit details are removed, each day is summarized (counts only, nothing about individual visitors) and the summary is kept in your database.
- Full Hebrew translation and RTL support.
Privacy
- No cookies. Basic analytics stores nothing on the visitor’s device.
- IP addresses are never stored — only used to build an anonymous daily hash that changes every day.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honored by default: those visitors are not counted. Optionally (Settings) they can be counted anonymously — no identifier and nothing stored on their device. Whether that is allowed depends on where your visitors are; in the EU a court held Do Not Track to be a valid GDPR objection.
- All data stays in your own WordPress database. The plugin does not connect to any external service.
- Sales attribution keeps the source only for the visit (session storage, cleared when the tab closes), so it needs no consent.

Installation
- Install the plugin from the Plugins screen (search for “NB Analytics”), or upload the
nb-analyticsfolder to/wp-content/plugins/. - Activate it. Tracking starts right away — there is nothing to configure.
- Open Visitor Analytics in the admin menu to see the dashboard.
- Every page a visitor opens is counted. On a very busy site you can count only the first page of each visit (Visitor Analytics > Settings > Page Views).
Frequently asked questions
How do I tag a WhatsApp or email campaign?
Add UTM parameters to the link, for example: https://example.com/sale/?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=message&utm_campaign=summer-sale Visits from that link are shown under the campaign, and its sales under the source (WhatsApp). The order page shows the campaign of each sale.
Is it an alternative to Google Analytics?
For most small sites and stores, yes: you see sources, campaigns, pages, devices, countries and sales by source inside WordPress, without cookies and without sending data to a third party. It does not do advertising audiences, funnels across devices or long-term user tracking, by design.
Does the plugin use cookies?
No. Basic analytics stores nothing on the visitor’s device. Sales attribution uses session storage, which is cleared when the tab closes (it can be turned off in Settings).
Do I need a cookie banner for this plugin?
The plugin is built to minimize consent requirements: no cookies, no stored IP addresses, first-party only. Whether you need a banner depends on your whole site and your local rules. This is not legal advice. If you need a consent banner, we make one too: see nbplugins.com.
Does it slow down my site?
No. The page view is sent in the background, after the page has loaded. On a very busy site you can count only the first page of each visit (Settings > Page Views).
Is it counted when the page comes from a cache?
Yes. The tracking script is part of every public page, and bots, administrators and (by default) Do Not Track visitors are filtered out when the visit is confirmed.
How long is data kept?
The dashboard shows the last 30 days. Detailed visit rows are removed after 30 days; daily summaries (counts only, no individual visitors) are kept in your database.
What happens to the data when I delete the plugin?
By default, deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen also deletes all its data. To keep the data, untick “Delete all data when the plugin is deleted” in Settings before deleting. Deactivating or updating the plugin never deletes anything. The source saved on each WooCommerce order stays with the order.
