About ListYourEvent — Easy Event Listing
From the official readme · v1.0.0Description
ListYourEvent gives you an easy way to publish and manage events on your WordPress site. Add a date, location, organizer and registration link to any event, and the plugin automatically builds a clean, filterable events directory — plus a polished single event page — without touching a theme file.
Key Features:
- Simple Event Creation: Add events with date, end date, time, organizer, location, registration link and a featured image, right from the familiar WordPress editor.
- Automatic Events Directory: A ready-made, responsive archive page lists all upcoming events in a filterable grid — no setup required.
- Add to Calendar: Every event includes a built-in “Add to Calendar” option, generated automatically from the event’s date and time, compatible with Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple/iCal (.ics download).
- Month & Date Filtering: Visitors can filter the events directory by month or by an exact date.
- Shortcode Support: Drop
[lyevt_events]into any page, post, or widget to show an event list anywhere on your site. - Fully Responsive: The events grid and single event page adapt cleanly from desktop down to mobile.
- Optional Footer Credit: A small “Powered by ListYourEvent” link can be shown in your site footer if you choose to — it is off by default and only appears if you turn it on in Settings.
- Secure & Compliant: Proper sanitization, escaping, and validation ensure WordPress security best practices.
- Lightweight & Fast: No page builder or external service required; built entirely on core WordPress APIs.
Why Choose This Plugin?
- Zero Configuration: Activate the plugin and start publishing events — the archive and single event pages are generated automatically.
- Better Attendance: The one-click “Add to Calendar” button removes friction and helps visitors actually show up.
- Clean, Modern Design: Card-based event listings and a styled single event page that look good out of the box.
- Developer Friendly: Simple, well-commented code with CSS variables for easy re-theming.

Privacy Notice
This plugin does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from visitors. Event data (title, date, time, location, organizer, registration link) is entered by the site administrator and stored in the local WordPress database only. The “Add to Calendar” links are generated locally and only contact Google or Outlook’s servers if a visitor actively clicks those specific options.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the events archive page live?
It’s created automatically at yoursite.com/events/. Each event also gets its own page at yoursite.com/event/event-name/.
Can I show events somewhere other than the automatic archive page?
Yes. Use the [lyevt_events] shortcode on any page, post, or widget area. Optional attributes let you control how many events show, whether past events are included, and whether the filter bar appears — for example: [lyevt_events limit="6" show_past="no" show_filter="yes"].
How does “Add to Calendar” work?
The plugin reads the event’s date, time and location and generates ready-to-use Google Calendar and Outlook links, plus a downloadable .ics file for Apple Calendar and other apps — no setup or external service needed.
Will this plugin slow down my website?
No. It only loads its CSS and JavaScript on pages that actually display events, and it doesn’t depend on any external services or APIs.
Is it compatible with caching plugins?
Yes, it works seamlessly with popular caching plugins like WP Super Cache and W3 Total Cache.
Can I change the colors to match my theme?
Yes. All colors are defined as CSS variables at the top of assets/css/event-styles.css, so you can adjust them without touching any PHP.
Does this plugin track visitors or collect personal data?
No. See the Privacy Notice section below.
