External Services
Globe Boss Interlinker connects to external websites in the following circumstances:
Keyword extraction from a URL
When you use the “Find keywords from a page” feature on the Keywords tab, the plugin fetches the URL you enter to extract keyword phrases from its content. This is a user-initiated action — the plugin never contacts external servers automatically or without your input.
- Data sent: an HTTP GET request to the URL you provide.
- No user data or site data is transmitted to any third party.
- The fetched page content is processed locally on your server and cached temporarily as a transient.
No other external connections are made by the free plugin.
Frequently asked questions
The “Internal links” column is missing from my Posts or Pages list
This is almost always caused by a column-manager plugin, not by LinkWise. Plugins such as Admin Columns / Admin Columns Manager and Admin and Site Enhancements (ASE) Pro take over the admin column list and rebuild it from their own saved configuration, which strips out columns added by other plugins. You have two options: If you do not need the column manager, deactivate it and the “Internal links” column returns. If you want to keep the column manager, add LinkWise’s “Internal links” column through that plugin’s own column interface, since it controls which columns appear. The same applies…
The internal-links counter shows “building…” and does not finish
The counts are built from the Link Report cache in the background. If it does not resolve, open LinkWise and let the Link Report run once; the counts then appear on the Posts list. On very large sites the first build can take a moment.
“Suggest keywords from my site” reports the prompt is too long
Fixed in 2.20.1. Update to the latest version.
Changelog
2.24.7
- Fixed a concurrency bug where background report scans could stack parallel processes on busy sites, causing high server load. Both the link report and anchor report builders now use a file lock so only one scan runs at a time.
2.22.1
- WordPress.org compliance: text domain aligned to the plugin slug, all output escaped, removed a redundant settings-save path, and moved AI provider endpoints entirely into the Pro add-on. Added uninstall cleanup.
2.20.3
- Fixed Fix Orphans on Auto-Link Run reporting “No link data yet” and sending you to the Link Report tab first, even when the report was ready. The orphan finder now builds the site index itself if needed, using the same safe cached scan, so it works on the first click without going back and forth between tabs.
2.20.2
- Added a troubleshooting FAQ covering the internal-links column being hidden by column-manager plugins (Admin Columns, ASE Pro), the “building…” counter, and the keyword-suggestion prompt limit. No functional changes.
2.20.1
- Fixed “Suggest keywords from my site” failing with a “prompt is too long” error on sites built with Elementor or WPBakery. Page-builder content is stored as long strings with few spaces, which defeated word-based trimming; summaries are now clipped by character length with a hard ceiling on the whole request, so it can never exceed the AI limit regardless of how content is stored.
- Fixed the internal-links column on the Posts and Pages list staying stuck on “building…”. The background script that fills the counts was not being loaded on the Posts list, so it could never finish; it now loads there for managed post types.
- The counts no longer risk an endless refresh loop, and show a clear state when a site genuinely has no internal links yet.
2.20.0
- Rebuilt the Guide screen from a static feature list into an actionable onboarding surface: a live setup tracker that reads your real configuration and shows how far along you are, a plain-English “what LinkWise does and never does” safety section, task recipes for common goals, an SEO guidance block with a safe-defaults table, and a collapsed reference for every screen.
- Added a keyword filter and keyboard-accessible accordions; the tracker updates its progress without a full page reload.
- Records two new pieces of state to drive the tracker: the time of the last site scan and the last auto-link run.
