About Flexa Block – Blocks & Page Builder
From the official readme · v1.0.16Description
Flexa Block is a growing collection of modern Gutenberg blocks designed to help you build beautiful WordPress websites faster.
Instead of installing multiple block plugins, Flexa Block focuses on providing carefully crafted, lightweight, and highly customizable blocks that integrate naturally with the WordPress Block Editor.
📌 DEMO
Features
- Lightweight and performance-focused
- Native Gutenberg experience
- Front-end inline editing — click text on the live page and edit it in place
- Responsive by default
- Clean and modern design
- Highly customizable
- No unnecessary bloat
- Regular updates
Front-end inline editing
Fixing a typo no longer means opening the Block Editor. On the live page, logged-in users who can edit the post simply click the text, type, and save — the change is written straight back to the block, so your layout, styling and generated CSS stay exactly as they were. Every edit is recorded as a note on the post, and you decide from the settings page whether inline editing is on, which roles may use it, and which blocks it applies to.
Whether you’re building landing pages, business websites, blogs, or eCommerce stores, Flexa Block helps you create professional layouts with less effort.
More blocks and advanced features will be added in future releases.
Source code for compiled JavaScript and CSS
The plugin ships with minified/compiled JavaScript and CSS in build/. The human-readable source code (src/), together with the build tooling used to generate those assets, is publicly available and maintained at:
https://github.com/flexatech/flexa-block
The assets are built with npm and @wordpress/scripts (webpack). To build them yourself:
- Install dependencies:
npm install - Build production assets:
npm run build(ornpm startfor a watched dev build)
This regenerates everything in build/ from the source in src/.
External services
This plugin can connect to the third-party services listed below. Each is optional and is only contacted for the specific block that uses it; if you do not use that block, no request is made.
Facebook Graph API (Facebook Feed block)
The Facebook Feed block displays posts from a Facebook Page. When the block is present on a page (and in the editor while you configure it), the plugin sends a request from your server to the Facebook Graph API (https://graph.facebook.com/) containing the Page ID and the Page access token you enter in the plugin settings, in order to retrieve the Page’s recent posts, images and engagement counts. Responses are cached to reduce the number of requests. The access token is stored on your server and is never exposed to visitors’ browsers. This service is provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.
Terms of Service: https://developers.facebook.com/terms/
Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
Instagram Graph / Basic Display API (Instagram Feed block)
The Instagram Feed block displays media from an Instagram account. When the block is present on a page (and in the editor while you configure it), the plugin sends a request from your server to the Instagram API (https://graph.instagram.com/) containing the access token you enter in the plugin settings, in order to retrieve the account’s recent media. Responses are cached to reduce the number of requests. The access token is stored on your server and is never exposed to visitors’ browsers. This service is provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.

Privacy Policy: https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy/
Google Maps (Google Map block)
The Google Map block embeds an interactive map for a location you specify. When a page containing the block is viewed, the visitor’s browser loads a Google Maps embed (https://www.google.com/maps/embed/ when you supply a Google Maps Embed API key, otherwise https://maps.google.com/maps) with the location and zoom level configured on the block. This means the visitor’s browser connects to Google to display the map. This service is provided by Google LLC.
Terms of Service: https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms
Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
YouTube (Video Popup block)
When the Video Popup block is set to a YouTube video, the visitor’s browser loads a preview thumbnail from YouTube (https://img.youtube.com/) when the page is viewed, and — after the visitor clicks play — an embedded player from YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/embed/). Only the video ID you configure on the block is sent; no personal data is transmitted by the plugin. This means the visitor’s browser connects to YouTube to display the thumbnail and player. This service is provided by Google LLC.
Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Vimeo (Video Popup block)
When the Video Popup block is set to a Vimeo video, the visitor’s browser loads an embedded player from Vimeo (https://player.vimeo.com/) after the visitor clicks play. Only the video ID you configure on the block is sent; no personal data is transmitted by the plugin. This means the visitor’s browser connects to Vimeo to display the player. This service is provided by Vimeo, Inc.
Terms of Service: https://vimeo.com/terms
Privacy Policy: https://vimeo.com/privacy
User-supplied RSS feed (RSS Feed block)
The RSS Feed block fetches and displays entries from an RSS/Atom URL that you enter into the block. No fixed third-party service is involved — the plugin only requests the exact feed URL you configure — but be aware that this causes your server to make an outgoing request to that URL.
Deactivation feedback (Flexa Product Intelligence)
When you go to deactivate Flexa Block on the Plugins screen, a short optional survey asks why. It is served by Flexa’s product intelligence service at https://product-intelligence.flexacommerce.com. It runs only in the admin, on wp-admin/plugins.php, never on the front end, and never blocks or delays deactivation. What is sent, and when:
- On opening the Plugins screen: a request to
/api/v1/config(product slug and tier) to load the survey configuration. The response is cached for 6 hours. - When you deactivate or interact with the survey: the reason you pick and any optional message you type, sent to
/api/v1/deactivations,/api/v1/events,/api/v1/feedback,/api/v1/feature-requestsand/api/v1/recovery-events.
Every request includes an anonymous per-site identifier (a random UUID), the plugin version and tier, and by default your WordPress version, PHP version and locale. No email, site domain, user identity or raw IP is collected. To stop sending environment data, use add_filter( 'flexa-block/deactivation_survey/config', function ( $c ) { return array( 'collect_environment' => false ) + $c; } );. To disable the survey entirely, use add_filter( 'flexa-block/deactivation_survey/enabled', '__return_false' );.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know how to code to use Flexa Block?
No. Everything is controlled through the WordPress Block Editor. Just insert a block, adjust settings in the sidebar, and publish.
Which WordPress themes does Flexa Block support?
Flexa Block works with any theme that supports the Block Editor, including classic themes and Full Site Editing (FSE) themes.
What blocks are included?
Version 1.0.4 ships with a growing library of blocks, including: Container, Button, Heading, Image, Countdown, FAQ (with optional FAQPage schema), Social Icons, Grid, Testimonial, Separator, Text, Counter, Info Box, Slides, Social Share, Table of Contents, Before / After, Breadcrumb, Steps, Tabs, Video Popup, Comparison Table, Google Map, Images Gallery, Banner, CTA, a Subscribe Form, Pricing Table, Team Member, Post Grid, Post Filter, Progress Bar, Timeline, Icon, Icon List, Lottie Animation, Modal, Star Rating, Notice, Data Table, Taxonomy, RSS Feed, Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed and twelve…
Can I edit content directly on the live page?
Yes. When you are logged in and allowed to edit the post, Flexa’s editable blocks become click-to-edit on the front end: click a heading, paragraph, button label, list item or table cell, type your change, and press Save in the toolbar that appears. The edit is saved into the block itself — markup, block settings and generated CSS are preserved — and logged as a note on the post.
Which blocks can be edited from the front end?
Thirty-five blocks, covering every block whose text you type in yourself: Heading, Text, Button, Table of Contents, Progress Bar, Before / After, Star Rating, Modal, Notice, Banner, CTA, Info Box, Testimonial, Team Member, Countdown labels, all eleven Subscribe Form field labels, FAQ, Tabs, Steps, Timeline, Pricing Table, Counter, Icon List, Comparison Table and Data Table. Blocks that show generated or fetched content (Post Grid, Breadcrumb, WooCommerce product blocks, feeds) are not inline-editable, since their text does not live in the block.
Who is allowed to edit on the front end, and can I turn it off?
Administrators always can; Editors are allowed by default. Open Flexa Block → Editing to switch inline editing off entirely, change which roles may use it, or disable it for individual blocks. Users still need the normal WordPress permission to edit that particular post.
Will Flexa Block slow down my site?
No. CSS is generated once at save time and cached per post. Only the styles actually used on a given page are loaded — there are no large catch-all stylesheets.
Does Flexa Block support dark mode?
Yes. The Container block integrates with a site-wide dark mode toggle, which you can enable or disable from the Flexa Block settings page in the admin.
How do I disable a block I don’t need?
Go to Flexa Block in the admin sidebar and open the Blocks tab. You can toggle individual blocks off — disabled blocks are removed from the Block Editor inserter.
Where are the plugin settings?
In the WordPress admin sidebar, click Flexa Block (located below Settings). From there you can control dark mode, CSS specificity, and which blocks are active.
Is there a Pro version?
Yes. Flexa Block Pro adds additional blocks and advanced features. It works alongside this free plugin.
Changelog
Adds a one-time, dismissible suggestion for Flexa FormFlow, our free form builder. Nothing else changes.
1.0.16
- New: an introduction to Flexa FormFlow, our free form builder with a visual email designer and a workflow engine. It shows as a Dashboard notice and as a banner on the Flexa Block screen, and only while FormFlow is not already installed. Choosing “not interested” once hides it everywhere, permanently.
- The suggestion is coordinated with our other plugins. If another Flexa plugin is active, the Dashboard shows one card rather than one per plugin, and turning it down anywhere turns it down everywhere.
1.0.15
- Accessibility and SEO: every “Read more” button in Post Grid and RSS now carries the post or feed item title in its accessible name, so screen readers, voice control and site audits see which card each button belongs to. Previously a page of cards handed them a list of identical “Read more” links. The visible button text is unchanged.
1.0.14
- Sample Data: the bundled starter pages (Contact and SaaS Landing) now ship with a finished visual design instead of a plain layout. Each sample card has a single Preview action that opens the page on the front end, and removing an imported sample now asks you to confirm first.
- Admin: refreshed the dashboard with a cyan accent and rounded buttons, and added a Settings link next to the plugin on the Plugins screen.
1.0.13
- Fix: the deactivation feedback survey no longer opens more than one “Before you go” dialog. With several Flexa plugins active at once, each bundled its own copy of the survey script and every copy added a handler to the Deactivate link, so the dialog stacked and needed one click to dismiss each copy. Each Deactivate link now opens a single dialog.
1.0.12
- Hardened how block background images are written into generated CSS. Image URLs are now quoted and stripped of any characters that could break out of the CSS
url()value, closing a potential CSS-injection path. Background and mask images render exactly as before.
1.0.11
- Added seven more WooCommerce single-product blocks (shown only when WooCommerce is active): Add to Cart (quantity field and button with your own label and cart icon, full normal/hover styling, and matching styling for variable-product attribute dropdowns), Product Description (the long description with an optional heading, styled body, links, nested headings/lists/tables, and an optional line clamp behind a Read more toggle), Product Excerpt (the short description, falling back to a trimmed long description, capped by word count or number of lines), Product Field (a single line of product data: SKU, categories or tags, with a label, inline/badge/list terms and a copy-to-clipboard SKU), Product Meta (stacks Product Field rows into one list with a shared label column, row gap and divider), Related Products (a grid or list of related products with per-device columns and gaps, card styling, image ratio and hover, and toggles for image, title, price, rating and add-to-cart) and Product Stock (stock status as text or a badge, with your own wording for in stock / out of stock / on backorder, an optional icon, the remaining quantity and a low-stock threshold with its own colors).
- Social Share: added a Product Share variation that shares the current WooCommerce product, carrying its title and featured image with the link.
