About Cabina — Virtual Try-On for WooCommerce
From the official readme · v1.3.1Description
Cabina is an AI virtual try-on and size recommendation plugin for WooCommerce. It adds a “Try it on” button to your product pages and turns your store into a virtual fitting room: shoppers see your garment on their own body before they buy, and get the size to order from your own size chart.
With the virtual try-on, your customers can:
- Try on your garments virtually using their own photo, or on one of 40 preset models
- See themselves wearing the garment in a photorealistic AI-generated image
- Try up to three garments together — a full outfit in one image
- Get a size recommendation based on their measurements and on your size chart, with a fit preference (fitted, regular, relaxed)
- Rotate and zoom to see every detail
Zero code required. Install, paste your API key, and the virtual try-on button appears automatically on your WooCommerce product pages.
Virtual try-on and size recommendation, together
The virtual try-on shows how the garment looks on the shopper; the size recommendation tells them which size to order. Cabina reads the size chart you enter in the Cabina Dashboard, in centimetres, and compares it with the shopper’s measurements: a customer who is between two sizes gets the answer before adding to cart. The size recommendation also works without a photo, from height and weight.
How it works
- Sign up on Cabina — Create a free account at https://cabina.io
- Generate your API key — In the Cabina Dashboard → Installation → Your API key. It is shown only once: copy it right away
- Install this plugin — From the WordPress Plugin Directory or by uploading the ZIP
- Paste your API key — In Settings → Cabina
- Done! — The widget appears on your WooCommerce product pages
Why Cabina
- Increase conversion — Customers who try on virtually buy more
- Reduce returns — Size recommendations cut returns caused by wrong sizes
- Nothing for shoppers to install — The virtual fitting room runs directly in the customer’s browser, mobile included
- Free plan — Start free, with no credit card; paid plans for stores that need more try-ons
- 8 languages — The widget speaks Italian, English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and Indonesian
- No external code — The widget script ships inside the plugin and is served from your own site; the try-on, the widget configuration, its translations and the model photos come from Cabina’s API
- Privacy and consent — Nothing leaves the customer’s device without explicit, revocable consent. With consent, the photo is sent to external AI providers to estimate measurements and generate the try-on image; the estimated measurements are not stored, and the generated image is kept for at most 7 days
Privacy and security
The customer’s photo is sent to external processing providers only after explicit and revocable consent: one service estimates body measurements from the photo for the size recommendation (the numbers are shown to the customer, can be corrected, and are not stored on our servers), another generates the try-on image. Customers who prefer not to send their own photo can try the garment on one of Cabina’s models. The resulting image is stored in a private archive for at most 7 days and then removed. Full details in Cabina’s privacy policy.
External Services
This plugin connects your store to Cabina, a third-party service operated by Cabina (https://cabina.io). It is required for the virtual try-on functionality: without it the plugin does nothing.
- The widget script itself is bundled with the plugin (
assets/widget.iife.js, unminified) and served from your own site. No code is loaded from Cabina’s servers. - On product pages the widget requests from the Cabina API (
https://www.cabina.io) the store’s widget configuration, its translations (JSON) and the photos of Cabina’s models, using the store’s API key. - When a customer uses the widget, it sends to the Cabina API (
https://www.cabina.io) the store’s API key, the product page URL and the product image URL, plus the data needed to run the try-on. The customer’s photo is uploaded only after their explicit, revocable consent, and is used to estimate body measurements for the size recommendation and to generate the try-on image; both happen on external AI providers listed in Cabina’s privacy policy. - Order statistics (optional, off by default). Only if you enter your Cabina Admin API key and check “Order statistics” in Settings → Cabina, the plugin sends to the Cabina API (
https://www.cabina.io/api/v1/orders), when an order becomes processing, on hold or completed and when it is refunded: your site address, the order ID, the line item IDs, their quantity and line total (after discounts, before tax), the order currency and date, and the ID of the try-on made in the widget (a random code, only for garments that were tried on). No customer data is sent: no names, emails, addresses, phone numbers or IP addresses. Checking or unchecking the box, and uninstalling the plugin, also notifies Cabina. The data is used to show your store’s order and refund statistics, with and without a try-on, in the Cabina Dashboard.

Source code
assets/widget.iife.js is compiled (TypeScript, bundled with Vite, not minified). Its full source code, together with this plugin, is public:
https://github.com/Aruthu/cabina-woocommerce
To rebuild the file from source (Node.js 20 or later):
npm install
npm run build:plugin
The build writes apps/plugins/woocommerce/assets/widget.iife.js, byte-identical to the file shipped with the plugin.

Frequently asked questions
Is WooCommerce required?
Yes. Cabina integrates with WooCommerce product page hooks. If WooCommerce is not active, the plugin shows a notice and the widget is not injected.
Is the virtual try-on free?
The plugin is free, and Cabina has a free plan you can start without a credit card. Paid plans, for stores that need more try-ons, are listed at https://cabina.io.
Can I customize the widget’s appearance?
Yes! Log in to the Cabina Dashboard (https://cabina.io/dashboard): colors, button text and language are in Widget & Branding, and the garments customers can try on are in Garment Views.
Do I need to update the plugin when new features are released?
Yes. The widget ships inside the plugin, so new widget versions arrive as plugin updates through the regular WordPress update mechanism. Widget settings (colors, texts, categories) are managed in the Cabina Dashboard and do not require a plugin update.
What happens if I uninstall the plugin?
All settings (API keys included) are removed from the database. If order statistics were on, Cabina is told they are off. The try-on ID saved on order lines (a hidden _cabina field) stays in your orders, like any other order data.
What are order statistics?
An optional section of the Cabina Dashboard (Metrics → Orders and returns, Starter plan or higher): how many orders include a garment the shopper tried on, what they are worth and how many are refunded, compared with orders without a try-on. It is off until you add the Admin API key and check “Order statistics” in Settings → Cabina. WooCommerce does not record returns, so refunds are counted and the “size” return reason is not available.
Does it work with any WooCommerce theme?
Yes. The plugin uses standard WooCommerce hooks. If your theme does not support the primary hook, the widget is injected in a fallback position below the product description.
Changelog
1.3.1
- Settings → Cabina: a “Remove the saved key” box removes the Admin API key (and turns order statistics off, telling Cabina)
- Turning on order statistics uses the key just entered, and waits at most 5 seconds for Cabina instead of 10
- Uninstall unschedules pending order statistics deliveries by the plugin’s own action name
- Widget updated to the current release: the try-on ID is also written into the PrestaShop product form (no change for WooCommerce stores)
1.3.0
- Optional order statistics (off by default): with the Admin API key and the “Order statistics” box in Settings → Cabina, the Cabina Dashboard shows orders and refunds with and without a try-on. Only order and line IDs, quantity, line total, currency, date and the try-on ID are sent; no customer data
- The try-on ID is carried from the product form to the order line (hidden
_cabinafield), with classic and block checkout - Declared compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and the block checkout
CABINA_API_URLcan be overridden inwp-config.php- Widget updated to the current release: when zoomed in, a tap on the photo brings the before/after slider there; after a completed try-on the widget marks the product form so the order can be linked to the try-on
1.2.5
- Widget updated to the current release: dragging the before/after slider no longer pans the zoomed result; the mouse wheel scrolls the page and zooms only with Ctrl (or a trackpad pinch); on phones a finger on the result scrolls the page until the photo is zoomed; the “Drag to compare” hint moved to the bottom left so it no longer covers the face; the size recommendation uses only the measurements the shopper gave, respects the adult/child answer and ignores out-of-range values
1.2.4
- Widget updated to the current release: in stores that sell to both adults and children, when a garment matches an adult and a children’s size chart the fitting room first asks “Who will wear it?” and sends under-16s to the preset models; the under-16 model groups have their own headings in all 8 languages; a double-tap to zoom on the result no longer moves the before/after slider
1.2.3
- Widget updated to the current release: size charts carry a “Who it is for” field (adults, or children and teens up to 15); on garments covered only by children’s charts the fitting room shows 18 under-16 preset models and never asks the shopper for a photo
1.2.2
- Widget updated to the current release: the try-on button and the body-type labels follow the language of the product page, the gallery labels are complete in Italian, and the desktop window no longer gets cut off at the top on short screens
