About TrueSift Ad Detect
From the official readme · v1.0.1Description
TrueSift Ad Detect helps publishers respond to ad blocking without turning the website into a wall. It checks the browser quietly and gives you control over what happens only when blocking is confidently confirmed.
Choose the experience that fits your site:
- Show a friendly reminder banner and let visitors continue.
- Redirect confirmed detections to your own information or support page.
- Use the browser event to build a completely custom front-end experience.
- Discourage casual copying with independent right-click and copy controls.
- Keep copying available while automatically adding the current page URL as the source.
The banner can be matched to your website with light, dark or custom colors, adjustable width, corner radius, typography and six placement options. A live preview in the WordPress admin helps you see the result before saving.
TrueSift uses a fail-open approach. Only a confirmed blocked result triggers the action you selected. clear, limited, unknown, invalid responses and scanner or network failures allow the visitor to continue normally.
The Scanner V2 runtime is loaded locally from the plugin. Only the public probe resources are requested from the TrueSift scanner service.
TrueSift Ad Detect does not create a detection history in WordPress. If a visitor dismisses the optional reminder banner, only the reminder expiry is stored in browser localStorage. Content protection runs locally in the browser and does not send copied content to TrueSift.

External service
AdBlock detection is disabled by default. When a WordPress administrator enables detection, the visitor browser contacts the public TrueSift scanner service at https://ad-detect.truesift.de to request neutral and ad-specific probe resources. These requests are necessary for the AdBlock detection feature.
Like ordinary web requests, the scanner service processes standard connection metadata such as the visitor IP address and HTTP request headers. The WordPress plugin does not send a WordPress user account, site secret, management token, form content or detection history to the scanner service.
Privacy policy: https://truesift.de/datenschutz?utm_source=wordpress_plugin&utm_medium=readme&utm_campaign=truesift_ad_detect&utm_content=privacy_policy
Privacy
When detection is enabled, the browser requests probe resources from the public TrueSift scanner service. Standard network metadata is processed by that service as part of normal HTTP delivery. See https://truesift.de/datenschutz?utm_source=wordpress_plugin&utm_medium=readme&utm_campaign=truesift_ad_detect&utm_content=privacy_policy for details.
The plugin stores only administrator configuration in WordPress. A dismissed banner stores its reminder expiry only in browser localStorage. Content protection settings act locally in the browser. If source attribution is enabled, the current page URL is added to the clipboard locally; copied content is not sent to TrueSift.

Frequently asked questions
Does TrueSift block a visitor when it is not sure?
No. Only a confirmed blocked result is authoritative. limited, unknown, invalid results and scanner failures fail open, so the visitor continues normally.
Can I keep the reminder subtle?
Yes. The built-in banner is non-blocking. You can adjust its colors, width, position, typography and reminder period, or use your own front-end integration instead.
Does the plugin store detected visitors in WordPress?
No. Version 1.0.1 does not create a detection log and does not store visitor IP addresses, user agents or detection results in the WordPress database.
Does the plugin create cookies?
No. If the optional reminder banner is dismissed, only an expiry timestamp is stored in browser localStorage.
Can developers build their own UI?
Yes. Choose the custom integration option and listen for the browser event truesift:ad-detect-result. Its event detail contains the validated Scanner V2 result.
Can TrueSift stop every possible way of copying content?
No. Right-click and copy controls discourage casual copying in the browser, but they are not DRM. Content that has already been delivered to a visitor browser can still be accessed by a determined user.
What happens when source attribution is enabled?
When copy blocking is off, copied page text can receive a short Source: line with the canonical URL of the current page. The clipboard update happens locally in the browser and is not sent to TrueSift or stored in WordPress.
Is the scanner loaded from a CDN?
No. The Scanner V2 runtime is a local plugin asset. Only probe resources are requested from the TrueSift scanner service.
