About AI Schema Gen
From the official readme · v1.0.36Description
AI Schema Gen is the WordPress side of a full AI readiness platform. It checks whether AI systems like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI can reach your site, read it, and tell who your business is. Then it fixes what it finds, directly on your WordPress pages.
Check, fix, then keep watching
- Free AI readiness score: scan up to 100 pages in under a minute, no signup, with the free AI readiness checker. You get a 0-100 score across four areas: can AI reach your site, read each page, tell who you are, and describe you correctly.
- Fixes applied inside WordPress: missing schema markup, references that point at nothing, business details that never connect to each other. The plugin writes the fix straight onto your pages, on any theme or page builder.
- AI visibility checks (paid plans): add the questions your customers actually ask and see whether ChatGPT names your business, and who it names instead.
- Weekly re-check (paid plans): your site is checked again every week, with an alert if your score drops.
The schema engine underneath: click Generate and the AI reads your content and creates accurate, entity-aware schema markup in seconds. No manual JSON-LD writing and no schema expertise required. It connects to the AI Schema Gen API with your free API key and handles everything automatically.

Built for AI Search (GEO)
AI search doesn’t rank pages the way traditional search does. It decides which brands and sources to cite by reading entity signals: who you are, what you’re known for, and how your identity connects across the web. Schema markup used to be about snippets. Now it’s also about earning a citation in Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.
AI Schema Gen is built for this shift:
- Entity-Aware JSON-LD: every schema block describes your business, author, or content as a connected entity, not an isolated snippet
- sameAs Links: connect your site to authoritative profiles (Wikipedia, Wikidata, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, social profiles) that AI models use to verify who you are
- Entity @graph Output: every entity on the page linked by canonical
@idreferences, the exact structure Google and AI crawlers use to resolve identity - Knowledge Graph Entity Score: a 0–100 score tracking how completely your site’s core entity (Organization or LocalBusiness) is defined, so you can see and close your entity gaps
Rich Results Too
Schema markup (structured data) also helps traditional search engines understand your content. When implemented correctly, it enables rich results in Google such as:
- Star ratings and review snippets
- Product prices and availability
- FAQ accordions directly in search results
- Recipe cards with cook time and calories
- Event dates and locations
- Breadcrumb navigation trails
AI Schema Gen generates all of these automatically, with no JSON-LD knowledge required.

Why: To analyse page content and generate appropriate schema.org structured data markup.
API Key Verification
What: The API key you enter in Settings.
When: When you click “Verify Key” in the Settings page.

When: Automatically after any schema is generated, edited, or deleted; every 6 hours via WordPress cron; or when you click “Sync Now” in Settings.
Why: To power your AI Schema Gen dashboard (coverage, validation, and analytics views), and to back up your settings and generated schema so they can be restored automatically if you reconnect an API key on a fresh WordPress install (for example, after uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, which deletes all local plugin data and database tables).

Frequently asked questions
What is schema markup?
Schema markup (structured data) is code added to your website that helps search engines understand your content. It can result in rich snippets in search results, such as star ratings, prices, FAQ accordions, recipe cards, event details, and more.
Do I need an API key?
Yes. Create a free account at aischemagen.com. It takes 30 seconds. The free account gives you 30 AI generations per month at no cost. Copy your API key and paste it into the plugin Settings page.
Will this slow down my site?
No. AI Schema Gen outputs lightweight JSON-LD in the page . The admin interface uses React but is only loaded in the WordPress dashboard; it is never loaded on your front end.
Is the generated schema valid?
AI Schema Gen includes built-in validation that checks your markup against schema.org specifications and Google’s Rich Results requirements. You can also test with Google’s Rich Results Test or schema.org’s own validator, both in one click directly inside the plugin.
Does it work with Yoast SEO or Rank Math?
Yes. AI Schema Gen suppresses competing schema output from Yoast SEO and Rank Math to prevent duplicate structured data. Your existing Yoast/Rank Math settings are untouched. Only the schema output is managed by AI Schema Gen.
Can I use it on multiple sites?
The Pro plan supports 1 site. The Premium plan supports up to 5 sites. The Agency plan supports unlimited sites. Each WordPress site needs its own API key.
What AI models are used?
AI Schema Gen uses state-of-the-art AI models to analyze your content and generate schema markup. Your content is never used for AI model training.
What happens if I exceed my monthly limit?
You can still manually create and edit schemas using the visual editor or code editor. Only AI-powered generation counts toward the monthly limit. Upgrade your plan at any time from aischemagen.com/billing.
Where can I find detailed documentation?
Full documentation including installation guides, feature walkthroughs, schema type references, and troubleshooting is available at aischemagen.com/docs.
Where do I report bugs or request features?
Use the WordPress.org support forum for public issues, or email support@aischemagen.com for account-related questions.
Changelog
Adds an AI Access section: your site now publishes an llms.txt file for AI assistants (on by default), an optional switch lets ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini crawlers in through robots.txt, and you get a warning with a one-click fix if your site is hidden from search engines.
1.0.36
- New: AI Access section in Settings. It fixes, from inside WordPress, three problems the AI Readiness report looks for.
- New: Your site now publishes an llms.txt file (yoursite.com/llms.txt), a short plain-text map of your business and key pages that AI assistants can read. It is built from your Entity Profile and page list, keeps itself up to date, and powers the one-click “Publish an llms.txt file” fix in your AI Readiness report. On by default; untick it in Settings > AI Access to turn it off. If your server already has its own llms.txt file, that one is always used instead.
- New: An optional switch that tells ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini they are welcome to read your site, by adding rules to WordPress’s robots.txt. Off by default. The same section shows which of these AI crawlers your current robots.txt blocks, and explains what to do if your server has its own robots.txt file or a firewall is blocking them.
- New: A clear warning, with a one-click fix, when “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” is switched on in Settings > Reading. That setting hides your whole site from search engines and AI assistants, and is easy to leave on by accident after building a site. Staging sites can dismiss it.
- Changed: The plugin’s WordPress.org description now explains the full AI readiness platform: the free readiness score, fixes applied in WordPress, AI visibility checks and the weekly re-check.
1.0.35
- New: Editing your business details in the Entity Profile (here in WordPress, or on your AI Schema Gen dashboard) now updates your homepage schema straight away, on the next page load, without you regenerating anything and without using a generation from your plan. Before this, a detail you changed only reached your live homepage the next time that page was regenerated.
- Fixed: Connecting your account with “Continue with Google” during setup could leave the setup wizard stuck on the first step, even though the popup said your site was connected. The wizard now keeps checking until the connection finishes and moves on by itself.
1.0.34
- New: The Entity Profile now has a Contact Email field, in the AI Schema Gen menu under Settings. It is written into your Organization and Local Business schema alongside (or instead of) your phone number.
- Changed: The Contact Info part of your Knowledge Graph Entity Score is now satisfied by a phone number OR a contact email, whichever you have. Both are a valid way for AI search engines to list how to reach you, so a business that only publishes one is no longer marked down for it. If you already scored full marks here, nothing changes.
- Changed: Profile links you paste into sameAs are now tidied up on save, upgrading “http” to “https”, adding “www.” for sites that need it (LinkedIn, Facebook, and similar), moving old twitter.com links to x.com, and stripping tracking parameters, so the links in your schema are the clean, canonical form.
1.0.33
- Fixed: The plugin’s background check for pending bulk schema jobs was running far too often, every 15 seconds and again on every page load, which on a busy site could push the server past its CPU limit. It now checks every 5 minutes, and jobs you start from your dashboard still begin within seconds because the server now signals your site directly. Deactivating the plugin also now properly stops all of its background tasks.
- Fixed: After connecting your account through the popup window, the setup wizard could stay on the first step even though the connection had actually succeeded. The wizard now confirms the connection with our server directly and moves you forward.
- Fixed: The dashboard’s “Configure Now” prompt, shown when your site type is not set yet, now returns you to the setup wizard where you left off instead of dropping you into the full Settings page.
- New: On a fresh install, the dashboard’s “Recent Schemas” area now shows a short list of your own pages, each with a one-click Generate button, instead of a “Create a Post” button that did not help you add schema to existing content.
1.0.32
- Changed: Removed the Getting Started checklist and the Quick Actions box from the plugin dashboard. Test a Page and Settings are still in the AI Schema Gen menu on the left.
- Fixed: Connecting your account now sends your site details to your dashboard straight away. Before this, that first push waited for the plugin’s own six-hourly background job, so you could connect your site and still see an empty dashboard hours later with nothing on screen explaining why. Your AI readiness check now starts as soon as you connect, rather than whenever that job next happened to run.
1.0.31
- New: An AI Readiness panel on your dashboard, showing your site’s latest score, its grade, how many pages were checked and when. The score is always recalled from your account and always dated, never worked out inside WordPress, because it depends on things only a check from outside your site can see: whether AI crawlers are allowed in, whether your pages are blank until JavaScript runs, and what an AI model actually says about your business when asked.
- New: Links straight through to the full report, and to the fix list on your dashboard.
