About Sky Campaigns Builder

From the official readme · v1.0.3

Description

Sky Campaigns Builder is a WordPress newsletter plugin and email marketing tool for building an email list directly from the WordPress dashboard.

Create email subscription forms, newsletter signup popups, and inline opt-in forms. Organize subscribers by campaign, send welcome emails, build autoresponder sequences, and deliver newsletter broadcasts without leaving WordPress.

Sky Campaigns combines the essential tools of a subscription campaign builder, newsletter plugin, subscriber manager, and basic email automation system in one lightweight workflow.

Use it to:

  • Create WordPress subscription forms and email signup popups.
  • Add inline newsletter forms with a shortcode.
  • Build multiple email subscription campaigns.
  • Collect and organize subscribers by campaign.
  • Send optional welcome emails.
  • Create delayed autoresponder and follow-up email sequences.
  • Send newsletters to all active subscribers or selected campaigns.
  • Export subscriber data to CSV.
  • Use normal WordPress mail, an existing SMTP plugin, or optional Sky Campaigns SMTP settings.
  • Extend campaigns with advanced triggers, scheduling, frequency controls, and CRM integrations in Pro.

Sky Campaigns is designed for bloggers, small businesses, WooCommerce stores, agencies, publishers, course creators, coaches, consultants, creators, and WordPress site owners who need a straightforward way to collect subscribers and communicate with an email audience.

Build Your Email List Inside WordPress

Sky Campaigns provides a practical email list building workflow inside the WordPress admin area.

A typical campaign can work like this:

  1. Create a subscription campaign.
  2. Choose a popup template.
  3. Customize the campaign headline, supporting text, form fields, button, colors, and optional image.
  4. Select where the campaign should appear.
  5. Choose a popup trigger.
  6. Collect new subscribers into a campaign-specific list.
  7. Send an optional welcome email.
  8. Queue campaign-specific autoresponder messages.
  9. Send newsletters to active subscribers.
  10. Export subscriber data whenever needed.

You do not need to connect an external email marketing service to create forms, store subscribers, send welcome emails, build follow-up sequences, or send manual newsletter broadcasts.

Sky Campaigns sends through WordPress wp_mail() by default. If your website already uses an SMTP or transactional email plugin, Sky Campaigns emails can use that existing mail configuration. Optional SMTP settings are also included for Sky Campaigns emails.

WordPress Email Marketing and Newsletter Plugin

Sky Campaigns helps WordPress site owners manage an email campaign from one dashboard:

  • Attract visitors with subscription popups.
  • Place newsletter signup forms inside content.
  • Build separate email lists for different campaigns.
  • Send a welcome message after signup.
  • Deliver delayed follow-up emails.
  • Send newsletter broadcasts.
  • Manage subscriber status.
  • Export subscribers for backup or use with another service.

This makes Sky Campaigns useful for website owners who are building an email list, running focused subscription campaigns, or looking for a lightweight WordPress newsletter plugin without immediately adopting a large external marketing platform.

Email Subscription Forms

Create email subscription forms for newsletters, updates, waitlists, announcements, lead generation, and audience growth.

Each campaign can include:

  • Email address field.
  • Optional first name field.
  • Custom campaign headline.
  • Custom sub-headline.
  • Custom button text.
  • Optional supporting note.
  • Optional privacy policy and terms agreement checkbox.
  • Custom privacy and terms text.
  • Links to selected privacy policy and terms pages.
  • Custom colors.
  • Optional image URL.
  • Campaign-specific subscriber storage.

Subscription forms can be used for:

  • Blog newsletter signups.
  • Product launch lists.
  • Course waitlists.
  • Service updates.
  • Event announcements.
  • Content updates.
  • Store promotions.
  • Download notifications.
  • Community newsletters.
  • General email list building.

The optional privacy and terms checkbox gives site owners a way to present their own agreement text and page links. Site owners remain responsible for configuring forms and data practices according to the laws and policies that apply to their websites.

Inline Newsletter Signup Forms

Not every newsletter form needs to appear in a popup.

Sky Campaigns includes a shortcode for displaying an inline subscription form inside posts, pages, widgets, landing pages, and supported page builders:

[skyca_form campaign_id="1"]

Replace 1 with the campaign ID you want to display.

Inline forms are useful for:

  • Blog sidebars.
  • Landing page opt-in sections.
  • Website footers.
  • Content upgrade sections.
  • About pages.
  • Contact pages.
  • Resource pages.
  • Course pages.
  • Product announcement pages.
  • Dedicated newsletter signup pages.

Because each shortcode references a campaign ID, different forms can add subscribers to different campaign-specific lists.

Newsletter and Email Signup Popups

Sky Campaigns includes a WordPress subscription popup builder for displaying opt-in forms on the front end of your website.

Each popup campaign can have its own:

  • Template.
  • Headline.
  • Sub-headline.
  • Button label.
  • Colors.
  • Optional image.
  • Optional first name field.
  • Optional small note.
  • Privacy and terms checkbox.
  • Display location.
  • Trigger.
  • Subscriber list.
  • Welcome email and autoresponder workflow.

Use subscription popups for:

  • Newsletter signup campaigns.
  • Blog subscription forms.
  • Lead generation popups.
  • Product launch email lists.
  • Course waitlists.
  • Service inquiry lists.
  • Download announcements.
  • Seasonal marketing campaigns.
  • Store promotion lists.
  • New content notifications.
  • Community updates.

Popup Templates

Sky Campaigns includes six ready-made popup templates.

Each campaign can use its own template and customization settings, including:

  • Campaign headline.
  • Campaign sub-headline.
  • Button label.
  • Text and background colors.
  • Optional image URL.
  • Optional first name field.
  • Optional supporting note.
  • Optional privacy policy and terms agreement checkbox.

Sky Campaigns Pro adds marketing-focused templates for discounts, coupons, sales, offers, campaigns, and announcements.

Popup Triggers

Choose how and when a WordPress subscription popup appears.

The free version includes:

  • Time delay in seconds.
  • Scroll depth percentage.
  • Exit intent.
  • Immediate display.

These triggers can help show a newsletter or email signup form after a visitor spends time on a page, scrolls through content, moves toward leaving the page, or loads the selected content.

Sky Campaigns Pro adds:

  • Click selector trigger.
  • Hover selector trigger.
  • User inactivity trigger.
  • Page views trigger.
  • Referrer targeting trigger.
  • Returning visitor trigger.

For advanced popup triggers, frequency controls, and scheduling, upgrade to Sky Campaigns Pro.

Campaign Display Targeting

Control where each subscription campaign appears.

Available display locations include:

  • Entire Site
  • All Pages
  • All Posts
  • Selected Pages
  • Selected Posts

Selected Pages and Selected Posts include searchable pickers in the campaign editor.

Examples:

  • Show a blog newsletter popup on posts only.
  • Display a product waitlist campaign on selected landing pages.
  • Run a general email subscription popup across the entire website.
  • Display a campaign only on selected service pages.
  • Create separate subscription campaigns for different parts of the website.
  • Show an announcement signup form on a specific group of pages.

Each campaign can use its own display location, design, trigger, and subscriber list.

WordPress Subscriber and Email List Management

Subscribers are stored in the WordPress database and linked to the campaign they joined.

The Subscribers screen lets you:

  • View subscriber email addresses.
  • View first names and last names when available.
  • See which campaign each subscriber joined.
  • Check subscriber status.
  • View subscription dates.
  • Search by email, first name, or last name.
  • Filter subscribers by campaign.
  • Review total subscriber counts.
  • Review active subscriber counts.
  • Export subscribers to CSV.

Public forms collect an email address and, when enabled, a first name. The database also includes a last name field for merge tags, compatibility, and future or custom integrations.

Email addresses are unique within each campaign. If a previously unsubscribed address subscribes again to the same campaign, the existing subscriber record is reactivated.

Subscriber data can be exported for backup, reporting, migration, or use with another email marketing platform.

Welcome Emails for New Subscribers

Sky Campaigns can send an optional welcome email when a visitor joins a campaign.

Use a welcome email to:

  • Confirm a successful signup.
  • Welcome a new newsletter subscriber.
  • Introduce your website or business.
  • Explain what type of emails the subscriber will receive.
  • Share a next step or useful link.
  • Deliver a simple introductory message.

Configure the welcome email from:

Campaigns > Settings > Email

The welcome email can be enabled or disabled. Site owners who prefer a longer sequence can disable the welcome email and use campaign-specific autoresponders instead.

WordPress Autoresponders and Automated Follow-Up Emails

Sky Campaigns includes campaign-specific autoresponders for delayed follow-up emails.

Use autoresponder sequences for:

  • New subscriber welcome sequences.
  • Course introduction emails.
  • Lead nurture emails.
  • Product education emails.
  • Follow-up offers.
  • Onboarding messages.
  • Service information.
  • Event preparation emails.
  • Drip-style campaign messages.

Each autoresponder includes:

  • Campaign selection. Core supports one campaign per autoresponder; Pro supports multiple selected campaigns per autoresponder.
  • Internal name.
  • Email subject.
  • HTML email body.
  • Delay in days.
  • Delay in hours.
  • Send order.
  • Active or inactive status.

When a new subscriber joins a campaign, active autoresponders for that campaign are added to the email queue.

WordPress cron processes the queue hourly and handles up to 50 pending autoresponder emails per run.

This provides straightforward WordPress email automation for delayed follow-up messages without requiring a separate external autoresponder platform.

Create and Send Newsletters from WordPress

Sky Campaigns includes a newsletter editor for creating and sending broadcast emails from the WordPress dashboard.

Each newsletter includes:

  • Internal name.
  • Email subject.
  • HTML email body.
  • Optional campaign targeting.
  • Draft or sent status.
  • Sent count.
  • Sent date after delivery.

Send newsletters to:

  • All active subscribers.
  • Subscribers from one selected campaign.
  • Subscribers from multiple selected campaigns.

If no campaign is selected, the newsletter is sent to all active subscribers.

Newsletters are delivered when you select Send Now or Save & Send Now.

Automatic newsletter scheduling is not implemented in the current version. A scheduled date field can be saved, but newsletter delivery still requires a manual send action.

Use newsletter broadcasts for:

  • New blog post roundups.
  • Business updates.
  • Product announcements.
  • Store promotions.
  • Course updates.
  • Event reminders.
  • Service news.
  • Community announcements.
  • Publisher newsletters.
  • Creator updates.

Unsubscribe Links and Subscriber Status

Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link.

When a subscriber uses the link, Sky Campaigns:

  • Finds matching active subscriber records for that email address.
  • Marks those subscriber records as unsubscribed.
  • Stores an unsubscribe date.

Unsubscribed records remain available in subscriber management so site owners can review subscriber status.

WordPress Mail and Optional SMTP Settings

The optional SMTP tab lets you configure SMTP credentials specifically for Sky Campaigns emails.

Leave the optional SMTP configuration disabled when your website already handles outgoing email through another SMTP plugin, transactional mail provider, or hosting configuration.

Actual delivery performance depends on the website hosting environment, mail server configuration, sender authentication, reputation, and any SMTP or transactional email service in use.
