About PostRSS Advanced Dashboard Integration

From the official readme · v2.2.0

Description

This plugin adds a “PostRSS” menu to your WordPress dashboard with these pages:

  • Settings: connect your PostRSS (postrss.com) account directly from your dashboard, so this site can manage your feeds on your behalf — with links to create an account or recover your password on postrss.com if you don’t have one yet.
  • Feeds: pick which content this site should publish — Posts (optionally filtered by category), Pages, or any other public content type your theme or plugins register — and which of your connected PostRSS destinations (Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, VK, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, Tumblr, Reddit, Matrix, Instapaper or any webhook such as Slack, Teams, Zapier, Make and n8n) it should post to, with full control over how often to check, the daily posting window, publishing order, max posts per run, and post text. Clicking “Add” automatically creates the matching target on PostRSS, pointed at a feed of your own site’s content filtered to your selection. Click any existing target to view its status, add any number of additional sources to it, edit or remove any one of them, pause or resume the whole target, jump to its posting report, or remove it. You can also connect a brand new destination account from this page — networks like Facebook or X take you to the network to authorise PostRSS and bring you straight back, while Telegram, Discord, Bluesky, Matrix, Webhook and Instapaper are connected with a short form right in the dashboard.
  • Account: your PostRSS profile and subscription usage (plan, tasks used, targets, expiry) at a glance, plus the list of available plans with a link to postrss.com when you’re ready to change plans.
  • Statistics: this month’s and past months’ posting activity per destination type.
  • Orders: your PostRSS billing history.
  • Affiliate: a link to your PostRSS affiliate page.
  • Help: a link to the official PostRSS setup documentation.

PostRSS is a tool that saves you time by managing your publishing source and targeting accounts automatically.

PostRSS works as an RSS autoposter and RSS feed automation tool built specifically for WordPress: it turns your site’s own content into an RSS feed and auto-posts new items to your connected social media accounts, so you never have to manually share a new post again. Whether you’re looking for a way to auto post from an RSS feed to social media, a WordPress autoposter for Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, or Pinterest, or a broader social media automation and content syndication workflow, PostRSS checks your feed on schedule, formats each item for its destination, and publishes it automatically.

As a social media scheduler, PostRSS handles the full social network automation loop: auto publish new content the moment it’s ready, or queue it for social sharing at the best time for each platform. Use it as a Facebook autoposter for Pages, an X (Twitter) autoposter, a LinkedIn autoposter for profiles and company pages, a Pinterest autoposter for boards, or a VK (VKontakte) autoposter — all from the same RSS feed. It’s a practical RSS to social media bridge for anyone who wants a reliable, set-and-forget autoposter rather than manually scheduling every update by hand on every network individually.

External services

This plugin connects to the PostRSS (postrss.com) service to manage your RSS publishing feeds and destination accounts. All requests below are made server-side by your WordPress site to the PostRSS API at https://app.postrss.com/api/v1 (documentation: https://app.postrss.com/api/v1/docs).

  • Settings page login: the email and password you enter are sent to POST /api/v1/auth/login; PostRSS returns an access token that is stored in a WordPress option (never shown to site visitors). Your password itself is never stored. “Disconnect” calls POST /api/v1/auth/logout, which revokes the token. The “Create one on postrss.com” and “Forgot your password?” links simply open https://app.postrss.com/register and https://app.postrss.com/login in a new browser tab.
  • Feeds page: once connected, the plugin calls GET /api/v1/networks (public) and the per-network endpoints such as /api/v1/facebook/pages to list your connected destinations, GET /api/v1/targets for your existing targets, POST /api/v1/targets to create a target, PUT /api/v1/targets/{id} to update one and DELETE /api/v1/targets/{id} to remove it. A target’s Report and its per-item detail come from GET /api/v1/targets/{id}/report and /report/{run}/items.
  • Connecting a destination: for networks that use OAuth (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, VK, Threads, Tumblr, Reddit, Mastodon) the plugin calls POST /api/v1/accounts/connect/{network}/start and sends your browser to the one-time link PostRSS returns; you authorise the connection on the network’s own site and PostRSS returns you to this dashboard. For form-based networks (Telegram, Discord, Bluesky, Matrix, Webhook, Instapaper) the details you enter are sent to POST /api/v1/accounts/connect/{network}.
  • Content source: a new target you create is pointed at this site’s own WordPress RSS feed (e.g. yoursite.com/feed/postrss-src/?prss_pt=post), filtered to the content type/categories you picked — the same publicly-available content WordPress’s normal feeds already expose, not a separate data upload.
  • Account, Statistics and Orders pages: read-only, from GET /api/v1/me, /api/v1/subscription, /api/v1/plans (public), /api/v1/statistics and /api/v1/subscription/orders. Changing a plan involves payment and happens on https://app.postrss.com/subscription, which the “Manage plan” button opens in a new tab.
  • Help page: the “View setup guide” link opens https://postrss.com/how-to-setup-postrss/ in a new tab.

PostRSS is provided by PostRSS: Terms of Service, Privacy Policy.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin folders to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
  3. Navigate to PostRSS -> Settings to connect your PostRSS account.
  4. Navigate to PostRSS -> Feeds to choose what to publish and where.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PostRSS password stored by this plugin?

No. Your email and password are sent once, directly to postrss.com over HTTPS, and PostRSS returns an access token for this site. Only that token — not your password — is stored. It appears as “WordPress: your-site” under Devices in your PostRSS account, where you can revoke it at any time; clicking Disconnect in the plugin revokes it too.

What does the “Feeds” page actually send to PostRSS?

When you click “Add”, the plugin builds a normal WordPress RSS feed URL for the content type (and, for Posts, categories) you selected — the same kind of feed WordPress already exposes publicly for that content — and asks PostRSS to create a target that watches that feed. No content is uploaded ahead of time; PostRSS simply polls the feed URL like any other RSS source.

Does this plugin affect my website loading speed?

No. The plugin only adds admin dashboard pages and a single extra RSS feed endpoint that’s only requested when PostRSS (or you) actually load it. Public front-end visitors do not load any of this code.

Changelog

Targets can now have multiple sources, matching the real app's "Sources +" button — previously the plugin only ever managed a single source per target.

2.2.0

  • Rebuilt on the PostRSS API v1: the plugin now signs in once and keeps a revocable access token (listed under Devices in your PostRSS account) instead of a browser-style session, and reads everything as JSON — no more parsing of postrss.com pages, so the Account, Statistics, Orders and Report pages are faster and no longer break when the website changes.
  • All PostRSS networks are available as destinations, including the new ones: Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, Tumblr, Reddit, Matrix, Instapaper and generic webhooks (Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zapier, Make, n8n).
  • Connect a destination without leaving the dashboard: OAuth networks bring you straight back to the Feeds page after authorising; Telegram, Discord, Bluesky, Matrix, Webhook and Instapaper are connected with a short form.
  • New per-source option “Also post older unpublished items” (catch-up mode), matching the “Older items” checkbox on postrss.com.
  • Targets are created in a single request; validation errors from PostRSS (for example a destination that is already used by another target, or a check interval below your plan’s minimum) are shown as clear messages.
  • Report pages show item-level status (posted, failed with reason, already posted, skipped, limit reached) with a link to each item.
  • The Affiliate page now links to postrss.com instead of parsing it.
  • After updating, reconnect once under PostRSS → Settings (the old session-based connection cannot be migrated).

2.1.14

  • Fixed the Short Description being truncated in the plugin directory (was over the 150-character limit).
  • Updated Tags and expanded the description with clearer, more specific search terms (RSS to social media, RSS autoposter, per-platform autoposting for Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest and VK).

2.1.13

  • A target can now watch several sources at once, matching the real app’s “Sources +” button — the Feeds page’s target detail view now lists every source with its own Edit/Remove, plus an “Add another source” form, instead of assuming one source per target.

2.1.12

  • Fixed “Visit plugin site” (in the Plugins list) pointing at postrss.com instead of this plugin’s own WordPress.org page.
  • Settings page now links to “Create one on postrss.com” and “Forgot your password?” next to the login form — both were missing, so there was no way to register or recover a password without leaving to search for it.

2.1.11

  • Account page now shows the actual available plans (name, price, key benefits) below your current subscription, each with an Upgrade!/Downgrade! button — matching the real “Plans” grid on postrss.com. Since payment itself has to happen there, the button takes you straight to that plan’s order page instead of leaving you hunting for how to subscribe.

2.1.10

  • “Post to” is now a Type dropdown plus a second dropdown scoped to that type’s connected accounts (matching the real app’s own Target settings layout), instead of one radio button per connected account. “Publish as” appears as a third dropdown when relevant.
