Piba Glass Countdown replaces your site’s front end with a polished, frosted-glass countdown page while you build or update your site — without touching a single line of template code.
Features
- One-click enable/disable — logged-in administrators always see the real site.
- Upload a logo and a background image straight from the Media Library.
- Adjustable color overlay (mask) on top of the background image, with opacity control.
- Elegant two-color gradient fallback for when no background image is set.
- Fully editable title, subtitle and footer text.
- Live countdown to any target date and time, in a frosted-glass (“glassmorphism”) card.
- Customizable message shown once the countdown ends — the maintenance page never launches your site automatically, you stay in control.
- Optional social media icon row (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, WhatsApp, TikTok, Pinterest) — icons are drawn inline, nothing is loaded from an external service.
- Optional “Notify Me” email signup form, stored in your own database — no third-party mailing service required. Includes spam protection (honeypot + rate limiting) and a CSV export from the admin area.
- Zero external requests: no CDN-hosted jQuery, no Google Fonts — everything needed is bundled with the plugin.
- Sends a proper
503 Service Unavailableheader while active, which is the SEO-correct way to signal a temporary maintenance page to search engines. - Translation ready.
Installation
- Upload the
piba-glass-countdownfolder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory, or install the plugin directly from the WordPress Plugins screen. - Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” screen in WordPress.
- Go to Glass Countdown in your admin menu to configure the logo, background, colors, countdown date, and footer text.
- Toggle Enable on and save — your site will now show the countdown page to visitors while you remain able to browse the real site while logged in.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose access to my own site while it’s enabled?
No. Any user logged in with the manage_options capability (administrators) will always see the normal site. Only logged-out visitors and non-admin users see the countdown page.
What happens when the countdown reaches zero?
The countdown simply stops at 00:00:00:00. The maintenance page keeps showing until you turn Enable off from the settings page — Piba Glass Countdown does not automatically disable itself, so you control exactly when the real site goes live.
Does this affect SEO?
While enabled, the plugin sends a 503 Service Unavailable HTTP status, which tells search engines the downtime is temporary and they should check back later, instead of removing the page from their index.
Where are the “Notify Me” email addresses stored?
In a table in your own WordPress database ({prefix}glco_subscribers) — nowhere else. Nothing is sent to a third-party mailing list service. You can view and export the list as CSV from Glass Countdown → Subscribers.
Will uninstalling the plugin delete my subscriber list?
No, not by default. Only the plugin’s own settings are removed. If you’d like the subscriber list deleted too, turn on “Delete Collected Data on Uninstall” in the Danger Zone section of the settings page first.
