Frequently asked questions
Will this plugin delete my existing reviews?
No. NeoLite only controls the visibility of the review submission form. All your existing reviews remain safely stored in your database and can be displayed even when new submissions are disabled.
Can I allow only registered users to leave reviews?
Yes! By using the “Logged-in Users Only” setting, you ensure that only real, registered users can post content, significantly reducing spam.
Does this work with modern Gutenberg/Block themes?
Yes, NeoLite is fully compatible with both Classic and Block-based themes. It hooks directly into the WooCommerce review system to ensure consistent behavior regardless of your design.
Will it slow down my site?
Absolutely not. NeoLite is built with performance as a priority. It uses minimal resources and only executes logic where necessary, ensuring zero impact on your page load speeds.
Changelog
Restores the global guest-comment lockdown, fixes a WooCommerce review notice and a possible autoloader fatal, and completes uninstall cleanup.
1.1.1
- Compatibility: Declared compatibility with the WooCommerce Cart and Checkout blocks — the plugin touches reviews and comments only, so WooCommerce no longer lists it as “uncertain” on the compatibility screen.
- New: A “Useful Free Plugins” tab linking to the author’s other free plugins, and a help sidebar on the settings screen with quick links to the documentation, the support forum and reviews.
- Compatibility: Tested up to WordPress 7.1.
1.1.0
- New: Restored the “Disable Global Guest Comments” option, which requires visitors to log in before commenting anywhere on the site. It previously could not be enabled from the settings screen.
- Fix: The WooCommerce guest-review restriction no longer triggers an “incorrect usage” notice on some themes; product detection is now query-safe and applies only to product reviews.
- Fix: Regenerated the Composer autoloader (a stale mapping could cause a fatal error) and committed a lockfile for reproducible builds.
- Fix: Uninstall now clears the activation transient and runs across every site on multisite.
- Improvement: Admin styles now load only on this plugin’s own settings page.
- Maintenance: Added coding-standard and static-analysis tooling, a translation template, and a
.distignore-driven build.
1.0.1
- Updated settings page design to dynamically support WordPress Admin color schemes.
- Replaced hardcoded CSS colors with theme variables for a more unified layout.
1.0.0
- Initial release.
