📋 Display Modes
Inline Expand — Click a team member card and a detail panel slides open directly below the grid. Click again or press Close to collapse.
Modal Popup — Click a card to open a centred overlay with the member’s full profile, bio, contact info, and social links.
Modal with Navigation — Same as Modal Popup, but with Previous ‹ and Next › arrows so visitors can browse all team members without closing the modal.
Horizontal Slider — Display team member cards in a smooth horizontal sliding carousel with Prev/Next arrow buttons.
⚡ Shortcode Usage
Use the shortcode anywhere — pages, posts, widgets, or FSE blocks:
Basic usage with a saved view:
[mistd_team_directory view="your_view_id"]
Available shortcode attributes:
view — The saved View ID to load display settings from. Create views under **Team Directory → Directory Views**.
mode — Display mode. Accepted values: `inline` (inline expand), `popup` (modal popup), `popup_nav` (modal with next/previous), `slider` (horizontal slider). Defaults to the view setting or `inline`.
columns — Number of columns in the grid. Accepted values: `1`, `2`, `3`, `4`. Defaults to the view setting or `3`.
per_page — Number of team members shown per page. Set to `0` to show all with no pagination. Defaults to the view setting or `3`.
department — Department slug to filter team members. Only members in that department are shown.
offset — Number of team members to skip from the start of the list. Useful for splitting a group across multiple shortcodes.

Everything is managed through the WordPress admin:
- Team Directory → Add Team Member — Add a team member with photo, position, bio, contact info, social links
- Team Directory → Departments — Create and manage department taxonomy
- Team Directory → Directory Views — Create named views with custom display settings
- Team Directory → Settings — Control global styles, colors, and layout
Installation
- Upload the
mis-tech-team-directoryfolder to/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin via Plugins → Installed Plugins
- Go to Team Directory → Departments and create your departments (e.g. “Board of Directors”, “Management”, “Faculty”)
- Go to Team Directory → Add Team Member and add your team members
- Go to Team Directory → Directory Views → Add New View and configure your directory
- Go to Team Directory → Settings to style the directory to match your theme
- Copy the shortcode from the Views list and paste it into any page or post
Frequently asked questions
Does this plugin require Elementor or any page builder?
No. MIS-Tech Team Directory is 100% standalone. It works with any WordPress theme using a simple shortcode.
Can I show different teams on different pages?
Yes. Create multiple Directory Views and use each view’s unique shortcode on different pages. Each view has its own departments, display mode, columns, and pagination settings.
Can I have multiple directories on the same page?
Yes. Use the Pager ID setting in each view to give them unique IDs and avoid pagination conflicts.
How do I control how many members show per page?
Set “Items to display” in the Directory View settings, or pass per_page in the shortcode. Set it to 0 to show all with no pagination.
Can I skip the first N members in a view?
Yes. Use the “Offset” setting in the Directory View to skip a number of people from the start.
How do I match the directory width to my theme?
Go to Team Directory → Settings → Global Container Width and choose Default, Full Width, Wide, Narrow, or WordPress Block Layout. You can also override the width per individual view in Directory Views → Edit View.
What photo shapes are supported?
Four styles: Default (4:3 rectangle), Rounded (soft corners), Circle (round crop), Square (1:1 no rounding). Set globally in Team Directory → Settings.
Is the directory mobile responsive?
Yes. The grid automatically reduces columns on smaller screens.
