Migrate Away From Envira
The lite version of Envira includes basic gallery features, like unlimited gallery creation with drag n drop reordering. There are a few settings to tweak within Envira, but to get the most out of it, you will need to upgrade to a paid version.
OR, change to FooGallery! The free version of FooGallery has tons more features, including being able to choose different gallery layouts, like masonry, image viewer, portfolio.
Migrate Away From Modula
Modula has 4 gallery layouts VS the 7 that come free with FooGallery. Modula also has a ton of settings to customize your galleries, but not as many as FooGallery offers.
Migrate Away From NextGen
NextGen has 3 gallery styles and a batch upload feature. More advanced features are only available with the paid versions of NextGen.
FooGallery free has 7 gallery styles and a load of different settings to customize it to look perfect for your website and theme.
Migrate Away From “Album and Image Gallery Plus Lightbox”
FooGallery Migrate can detect “Album and Image Gallery Plus Lightbox” galleries directly from WordPress database records, so the source plugin does not need to be active or loaded during migration.
Migrate Away From “WP Photo Album Plus”
FooGallery Migrate detects the exact current-site WP Photo Album Plus database tables even when WP Photo Album Plus is inactive. It creates one FooGallery gallery for each source album containing a supported, public local image and preserves image titles, descriptions/captions, alternative text, valid dates and deterministic source order.
WP Photo Album Plus stores images outside the WordPress Media Library. FooGallery Migrate supports its current flat and tree upload layouts and imports canonical local JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF and WebP display files. WebP files require image inspection support in the site’s PHP runtime; when unavailable they are skipped safely. Missing or malformed files, invalid rows, trashed/deleted items, capability-restricted albums, non-public or unknown statuses, and video, audio, PDF or other unsupported payloads are skipped rather than creating broken attachments.
Nested WP Photo Album Plus albums cannot be represented exactly because FooGallery albums contain galleries, not other albums. A source album with child albums is therefore offered as a FooGallery album containing its own non-empty gallery and all non-empty descendant galleries in a flattened list. Empty branches are omitted.
Only WP Photo Album Plus shortcodes and blocks containing one explicit positive numeric album value can be replaced automatically. Dynamic or virtual expressions (including names, encrypted IDs, #last, tag/search/query selectors and combined album expressions) are intentionally left unchanged for manual review. Random or unknown WP Photo Album Plus image order is converted to stable source-ID order; supported configured order modes use source IDs as deterministic tie-breakers.

Changelog
Update now to get all the latest features, bug fixes and improvements!
1.16
- Added WP Photo Album Plus migration for galleries, nested albums, locally stored images and metadata, plus supported numeric-album shortcodes and blocks; the source plugin can remain inactive, and migration form actions are now handled reliably.
1.15
- Added stale-status detection for Blocks / Shortcodes when the migrated gallery map changes after a content scan.
- Added a resumable Refresh Status action that reconciles saved occurrence statuses without rescanning post content.
- Fixed stale saved statuses preventing gallery occurrences shown as ready from being migrated and replaced.
- Added backward-compatible revision handling for scans and migrated-object maps created by older versions.
1.14
- Added migration support for built-in WordPress Gallery blocks and [gallery] shortcodes, with a choice between reusable FooGallery records and dynamic replacements stored directly in content.
- Fixed large content migrations running out of memory or timing out by scanning and migrating content in bounded batches.
- Added regression coverage for batched content scanning, AJAX migration progress, and hardened database queries.
1.13
- Added direct-access guards to plugin include and view files.
- Hardened legacy NextGEN and 10Web album queries with sanitized IDs and prepared SQL.
- Escaped migrated album edit links on the album migration screen.
- Verified the release package with WordPress Plugin Check security checks.
1.12
- Improved migration page performance by loading each tab from its own query arg instead of rendering every tab on first load.
- Moved image tag migration into a dedicated Image Tags tab.
- Improved large NextGEN library handling by using lightweight detection queries and deferring image row loading until migration runs.
- Stopped automatic content scans and migrated log hydration during normal migration page loads.
- Improved NextGEN image tag reads when NextGEN is installed but inactive.
1.11
- Added support for migrating NextGEN tag-based gallery shortcodes to FooGallery media tag shortcodes.
- Added NextGEN image tag migration so imported attachments can receive matching FooGallery media tags, including when NextGEN is installed but inactive.
- Added a Sync Image Tags tool to bring NextGEN tags across for images that were already imported.
- Improved existing migrated image matching so image tags can be synced from saved migration state or detected NextGEN records.
- Preserved existing FooGallery media tags when syncing migrated NextGEN image tags.
