About Easy Form Builder Data Tools
From the official readme · v1.0.1Description
Easy Form Builder Data Tools is a free WordPress form data migration, backup, import, export, and cleanup plugin created specifically for Easy Form Builder.
It provides WordPress administrators with a simple Gutenberg-style interface under Tools > Form Data Tools, where form data can be exported, imported, backed up, migrated, restored, or permanently removed.
Easy Form Builder is developed and maintained by WhiteStudio, WordPress form builder plugin developer.
Easy Form Builder Data Tools works locally inside your WordPress installation. It does not require a separate account, subscription, license key, API key, or external cloud service.
The plugin provides three focused workflows:
- Import — restore or migrate Easy Form Builder data.
- Export — create portable backups and migration packages.
- Remove — safely remove supported Easy Form Builder data when it is no longer required.
Whether you are moving forms to another WordPress website, creating a backup before an update, restoring form data, or cleaning up an old installation, Easy Form Builder Data Tools provides dedicated tools for managing your form data.

Why use Easy Form Builder Data Tools?
WordPress form data can include forms, submissions, settings, database relationships, and other information that may need to be preserved when moving or maintaining a website.
Easy Form Builder Data Tools is designed to simplify these common administration tasks.
You can use the plugin to:
- Back up Easy Form Builder data before making major website changes.
- Move forms and related data between WordPress installations.
- Restore previously exported form data.
- Export individual tables for use in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Review form database data outside WordPress.
- Remove Easy Form Builder data from an installation when it is no longer needed.
- Create migration packages without depending on a third-party cloud service.
Requirements
- WordPress 6.3 or later.
- PHP 7.4 or later.
- Easy Form Builder when working with live Easy Form Builder forms and data.
- PHP’s ZipArchive extension to create or import ZIP packages.
JSON and CSV functionality remains available when ZipArchive is unavailable.
Using the plugin
Export
Open the Export tab and select one or more detected Easy Form Builder database tables.
Choose:
- JSON for a complete portable migration and backup package.
- ZIP for a compressed version of the complete JSON migration package.
- CSV when you need to export one database table for use with spreadsheet software.
Settings can also be included in supported JSON and ZIP exports.
For complete Easy Form Builder migrations, JSON or ZIP is recommended because these formats preserve database structure and records together.
Import
Open the Import tab and choose a supported JSON, ZIP, or CSV export file.
JSON and ZIP migration packages contain validated schema information and can create missing supported tables when required.
CSV imports are intentionally limited to a single existing destination table. The CSV column headers must match the destination table structure.
Before starting the import, select one of the available data handling modes:
- Replace matching data
- Add to existing data
Always review the confirmation information before importing production data.
Remove
The Remove tab provides a deliberate cleanup process for Easy Form Builder data.
This operation can permanently remove supported:
- Form database tables
- Plugin settings
- Scheduled tasks
- Network settings
- Supported cache groups
Because this operation cannot be undone, create an export backup first.
To enable the final removal action, you must type the confirmation word displayed in the confirmation dialog.
After the operation completes, the plugin reports the cleanup actions that were performed.
File formats
JSON
JSON is the recommended portable backup and WordPress form migration format.
A JSON migration package can contain:
- Selected database tables
- Table schemas
- Index definitions
- Database records
- Supported Easy Form Builder settings
JSON is recommended when you need a complete, portable backup that can later be restored or migrated.
ZIP
ZIP provides a compressed version of the JSON migration package.
It contains the same portable migration data while reducing download size, making it useful for larger Easy Form Builder backups.
Creating and importing ZIP packages requires the PHP ZipArchive extension.
CSV
CSV is a standard spreadsheet-compatible format intended for exporting or importing one database table at a time.
CSV files can be opened in applications such as:
- Microsoft Excel
- Google Sheets
- LibreOffice Calc
- Other CSV-compatible software
Because CSV cannot preserve complete database schemas, indexes, and relationships between multiple tables, use JSON or ZIP for full Easy Form Builder migrations.
Security and privacy
Easy Form Builder Data Tools is designed for administrator-controlled form data management.
- Plugin screens and data-management actions require appropriate WordPress administrator capabilities.
- WordPress Multisite operations require network-administrator permissions where applicable.
- REST requests use WordPress authentication and nonces.
- Export downloads use a separately verified administrator nonce.
- Uploaded file types and package formats are validated before import.
- Table identifiers are validated before database operations.
- Schema components and index definitions are validated.
- Imported columns and row values are validated before database writes.
- Imports use database transactions where supported by the database engine.
- Failed supported transactions are rolled back when possible.
- The plugin does not require an external migration service.
- The plugin does not create its own analytics or tracking data.
- Form data is not intentionally transmitted to an external Easy Form Builder Data Tools service.
Exports may contain personal data, form submissions, configuration values, or private settings.
Store exported backup files securely, restrict access to them, and manage them according to your website’s privacy and data-retention requirements.

What is Easy Form Builder Data Tools used for?
The plugin provides dedicated tools for backing up, exporting, importing, migrating, restoring, and removing supported Easy Form Builder data.

Yes. Use a JSON or ZIP migration package when moving supported Easy Form Builder data between compatible WordPress installations. These formats preserve selected table structure and records together.
Which format should I use to move form data to another website?
Use JSON or ZIP for a complete migration. Both formats preserve supported table structure and records together. ZIP contains the same portable JSON migration package in compressed form.

Yes. Creating a JSON or ZIP export before major WordPress, plugin, database, or server changes provides a portable backup of the selected supported Easy Form Builder data.
Can I export form data to Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. Choose CSV when you want to export one supported table for viewing or processing in spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Why is CSV limited to one table?
CSV is a flat spreadsheet format. It cannot reliably preserve relationships, complete schemas, and database indexes across several related tables. Use JSON or ZIP when creating a full Easy Form Builder backup or migration package.
