About Content Reminder
From the official readme · v1.2.0Description
Content Reminder is an essential editorial workflow and content audit tool for WordPress. It helps you keep your site’s content fresh and accurate by tracking both modification dates and editorial review schedules.
Unlike standard WordPress dates, Content Reminder lets you perform and record editorial quality checks without artificially altering your post’s public post_modified timestamp.
Core Features
- Content Review Workflow: Assign and track review statuses (
Up to date,Needs update,In review,Archive candidate,Not reviewed). - Independent Review Dates: Record editorial reviews with custom intervals without changing WordPress
post_modifieddates. - Metabox & Quick Review: Convenient “Mark as reviewed” action right inside the Gutenberg and Classic editors.
- Post List Columns & Sorting: Visual status badges, upcoming/overdue indicators, and sorting by next scheduled review date.
- Smart Content Filters: Filter posts and pages by review status and timeline (Overdue, Due in 7/30 days, Never reviewed).
- Bulk Actions: Batch update review statuses or clear review metadata across multiple posts at once.
- Enhanced Dashboard Widget: Real-time overview of overdue reviews, items needing updates, and never-reviewed content.
- Automated Email Reminders: Regular summaries (daily, weekly, or monthly) alerting team members to outdated content and overdue reviews.
- Configurable Settings: Customize age thresholds, default review intervals, warning periods, and supported post types.
Why Content Reviews Matter
- SEO Performance: Search engines favor thoroughly checked and fact-verified content.
- User Trust & Accuracy: Ensure contact info, pricing, product specs, and outdated recommendations are regularly vetted.
- Editorial Accountability: Track who last verified the article and when the next audit is due.

/wp-content/plugins/content-reminderdirectory, or install through the WordPress admin panel by searching for “Content Reminder”. - Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” screen.

Frequently asked questions
Does marking content as reviewed change its modified date?
No. Editorial review actions only update internal review metadata (_okrcrm_*). WordPress’s public post_modified and post_modified_gmt timestamps remain unchanged unless you explicitly edit and save the post’s body or title.
How do I customize review intervals?
You can define a global default interval (e.g., 180 days) under “Settings > Content Reminder”, or set a custom day interval for individual posts directly in the “Content Review” editor metabox.
Which post types are supported?
Standard posts, pages, and any public post type you choose to enable in the plugin settings.
Can I disable the review workflow if I only need modification reminders?
Yes. You can uncheck “Enable Content Review Workflow” in the settings page to use only the classic content age reminder functionality.
