Choir Rehearsal helps choir members learn new pieces by voice part.
- Create songs and attach unlimited voice tracks
- Built-in voice list: backing track, bass, baritone, tenor, alto, soprano, other
- Upload MP3/WAV files from the Media Library, or choose YouTube per track
- Official YouTube embed on the song page (video stays visible; no download)
- Attach a PDF score per song with page-by-page viewer
- Frontend song list at
/rehearsal/with PDF, public, and YouTube badges - Send feedback from the song list (a confirmation email includes the case number)
- Sticky HTML5 player at the bottom of the page
- Optional login-only access with Singer and Voice Leader roles (English role names)
- REST API and MCP abilities for automation
External services
The rehearsal library works without external services. Song data, audio, and PDF scores stay on your WordPress site.
Optional feedback (under the song list): when someone sends feedback, the site server posts the request to https://rehearsal.compath.ee/api/feedback.php (Compath OÜ). The request includes the message, feedback type, name (optional), email address, WordPress role (or guest), the sender’s locale, plugin version, site home URL, WordPress version, PHP version, and non-secret Pro license identifiers when a license is active. The full license key is not sent. Compath registers a support case and emails a confirmation to the address on the form. No token is stored in the plugin. The email is used only to answer the request.
Optional YouTube tracks (song editor): choose YouTube as a track source and paste a URL. The song page opens the official YouTube embed player (youtube.com). Playback uses YouTube’s embed; no download. Subject to YouTube Terms of Service. No YouTube API key is required for this embed.
Optional documentation link in Settings may open rehearsal.compath.ee (Compath OÜ) for help and changelog. No site or user data is sent unless you open that page in your browser.
PDF viewing uses Mozilla PDF.js bundled inside the plugin (Apache-2.0). No PDF.js CDN calls are made.
Installation
- Upload the plugin folder to
/wp-content/plugins/compath-choir-rehearsal - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress (this creates roles Singer and Voice Leader)
- Assign users under Users: Singer to listen, Voice Leader to manage songs
- Go to Choir Rehearsal → Add Song (Voice Leader or Administrator)
- Share
/rehearsal/with your choir — Settings remain Administrator-only

Who can view rehearsal pages?
By default the full private library needs a Singer, Voice Leader, or Administrator account. Guests still see songs marked public. Change login behaviour under Choir Rehearsal → Settings (Administrators only).
What are Singer and Voice Leader?
WordPress roles created on plugin activation. Names stay in English. Singer listens; Voice Leader manages songs in wp-admin; Administrator also opens plugin Settings.
Can I embed the song list in a page?
Yes. Use the shortcode [choir_rehearsal].
How do singers send feedback?
Signed-in users see Send feedback under the song list. Logged-out visitors do not. Administrators and Voice Leaders also open the same form from Choir Rehearsal → Send feedback in wp-admin. Email is required. After a successful send, the page shows the case number and Compath emails a confirmation to that address. No GitHub token is required.
Can I use YouTube instead of an audio file?
Yes. In the song editor, set a voice track’s source to YouTube and paste a youtube.com or youtu.be URL. On the song page a button opens the official YouTube embed (video stays visible). This is for listening/reference only — the plugin does not download or convert YouTube audio.
