About Cartexa – Smart Cart for WooCommerce
From the official readme · v1.0.0Description
Cartexa – Smart Cart replaces the default WooCommerce cart redirect with a smooth, instant AJAX experience that keeps shoppers on the page and moving toward checkout.
8 independent modules. One lightweight plugin. Works with any theme — zero jQuery, zero page reloads.
🛒 Cart Modules
Side Cart (AJAX Drawer)
A smooth slide-in drawer from the right or left edge. Opens on add-to-cart, icon click, or both. Live quantity controls, item removal, and real-time subtotal — all without a page reload. Shows sale prices, savings badges, and WooCommerce notices inside the drawer.
Floating Cart Button
A persistent floating action button (FAB) fixed to a corner of the screen. Live item count badge. Hides automatically on cart and checkout pages.
Mini Cart — Shortcode + Widget
Place [cartexa_cart_icon] anywhere with a shortcode, or add the Cartexa Cart Icon widget to any widget area. Three icon styles: Bag, Basket, Trolley.
Nav Menu Cart Icon
Automatically inject the cart icon into any registered WordPress navigation menu — no shortcode or widget needed.
🚀 Conversion Modules
Free Shipping Progress Bar
Show customers exactly how close they are to qualifying for free shipping. Auto-detects your WooCommerce free shipping threshold. Custom messages with {amount} placeholder.
Trust Badges
Reassurance icons inside the drawer — Secure Checkout, Easy Returns, Fast Shipping, 24/7 Support — plus two custom text slots.
Stock Scarcity Messages
Low-stock warnings on cart items using real WooCommerce stock data. Configurable threshold and message template with {qty} placeholder.
Toast Notifications
Non-blocking “Added to cart!” notifications with product thumbnail and View Cart link. Auto-dismiss with configurable duration. Four position options.
Undo Remove Item
When a customer clicks the remove button, Cartexa delays the actual deletion and shows a countdown “Undo” toast. Configurable undo window (3–10 seconds).

Frequently asked questions
Does Cartexa work with my theme?
Yes. Cartexa injects all frontend UI via wp_footer — it does not override any WooCommerce templates. Tested with Astra, Kadence, GeneratePress, OceanWP, Flatsome, Storefront, Divi, Blocksy, Hello Elementor, Bricks, and Twenty Twenty-Five.
Does it require jQuery?
No. The entire frontend codebase is pure vanilla JavaScript (ES6). There is zero jQuery dependency.
How do I add the cart icon to my header?
Three ways: (1) Shortcode [cartexa_cart_icon] in any shortcode-ready location. (2) The Cartexa Cart Icon widget in Appearance → Widgets. (3) Enable Settings → Nav Menu to auto-inject into your navigation menu.
Can I enable all modules at once?
Yes. Each module is independently toggleable and has zero overhead when disabled.
Does it work with variable products?
Yes. Variation attributes, images, and per-variation pricing all display correctly in the drawer and all modules.
Is HPOS supported?
Yes. Cartexa declares full High-Performance Order Storage compatibility. All cart operations use WC()->cart — no direct order table queries.
Does it work with WooCommerce Cart and Checkout Blocks?
Yes. Cartexa implements Level 1 (JS store API events) and Level 2 (Block page detection) support. The drawer, FAB, and Sticky Bar automatically adjust their behavior on Block-based cart and checkout pages.
What happens to settings if I deactivate the plugin?
Settings are preserved on deactivation. Only deleting the plugin triggers uninstall.php which removes all plugin data from the database.
Can I export my settings to another site?
Yes. Go to Cartexa → Export / Import in the admin panel to download a JSON backup of your settings or import them on another site.
