About AutoraLab Cart Share: Share Cart Links…
From the official readme · v1.1.0Description
Cart Share is a free WooCommerce plugin by Autora Lab that lets shoppers send their cart to someone else.
A cart is often built by one person and paid for by another. Meera fills a cart with gifts and sends it to Daniel. A team picks the office order and the manager pays. Cart Share puts a Share cart button on your cart page, so that hand-off takes one link.
How it works
- The shopper taps Share cart on the cart page.
- They send the link in WhatsApp, email, a text message or any other app.
- Whoever opens the link gets the same products, quantities and coupons, and lands at checkout.
Why stores add it
- Gift lists. Shoppers send the exact gift they want, in the right size, to the person who is buying it.
- Team and office orders. One person picks the items, another pays.
- Selling over chat. Build a cart for a customer in the Link Generator and send it in the chat you already use.
- The holiday sale. Shoppers make their lists before Black Friday and pass them on. A shared cart turns a list into an order.
Features
- A Share cart button on the Cart block and on the classic cart, styled by your theme. Works with block themes and classic themes.
- A share popup with WhatsApp, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Telegram, Email, SMS and Threads. Turn on Pinterest, Reddit, Viber and Snapchat if you want them. Shoppers can also copy the link.
- On phones, Share cart opens the phone’s own share menu, so shoppers can use any app they have.
- Your own button label, and a share message you pick or write.
- Links keep the products, quantities, coupons and chosen options such as a size.
- When someone opens a shared link, their own cart is saved. One click brings those items back.
- If an item in a shared cart has sold out, a notice names it.
- A Link Generator for store owners: pick products, quantities and coupons, add a campaign name and copy the link.
- A private note on each shared-cart order, such as “Placed from a shared cart (WhatsApp).”
- Every link carries
utm_source=cart-share, so WooCommerce’s order attribution shows where the order came from, and tools like Google Analytics show where the visit came from. - On WooCommerce 10 and newer, most links use WooCommerce’s own checkout link, so they keep working even if you remove Cart Share.
- Translation ready and accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Works with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).
What it doesn’t do
- Extra product options from other plugins (add-ons, bundles, custom fields) don’t travel in the link.
- A link doesn’t fix prices. Whoever opens it pays the store’s price on that day.
Privacy
Cart Share adds a private note to orders placed from a shared link, naming the app and the campaign. It stores nothing personal. The shopper’s WooCommerce session keeps the app and campaign of the link they opened, and their earlier cart, until the session ends. The plugin makes no requests to outside services and adds no database tables.
Requirements
- WordPress 6.0 or newer
- WooCommerce 8.0 or newer (WooCommerce 10 or newer for WooCommerce’s own checkout links)
- PHP 7.4 or newer
Documentation
Setup, every setting and the developer filters are in the Cart Share docs on autoralab.net.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add a share cart button to WooCommerce?
Install and activate Cart Share. The Share cart button appears on your cart page right away, on the Cart block and on the classic cart. You can change its label and message under WooCommerce > Settings > Cart Share.
Can a shopper send their cart to someone else to pay?
Yes. The shopper taps Share cart and sends the link in any app. Whoever opens it gets the same products, quantities and coupons, and pays at checkout.
What does the person who opens the link see?
They land at checkout with the same items and coupons in their cart. If an item has sold out or a coupon has expired, a notice says so. If you set Link destination to Cart, they land on the cart page instead.
What happens to their own cart when someone opens a shared link?
It is saved, not lost. A notice offers “Bring them back”, which adds the earlier items to the shared cart. The saved items last as long as the shopper’s WooCommerce session, which is two days by default for a guest.
Does it work with WooCommerce checkout links on WooCommerce 10 and newer?
Yes. On WooCommerce 10 and newer, most shared carts use WooCommerce’s own checkout link. Carts with two or more coupons, or with an option chosen from “Any” (such as any size), use Cart Share’s own link to the cart page, because WooCommerce’s link can’t carry those.
Does it work with the Cart block and the classic cart?
Yes. The button, the popup and the phone’s share menu work on both, with block themes and with classic themes such as Storefront and Astra. Orders get their note on the Checkout block and on the classic checkout.
Can I change the button text and the share message?
Yes. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Cart Share. Type your own button label, then pick a message (“Here’s my cart from” and your store name, “Can you get this for me?” or “Here’s my wish list from” and your store name) or write your own.
How do I see the orders that came from shared carts?
Each order placed from a shared link has a private note, such as “Placed from a shared cart (WhatsApp).” WooCommerce’s order attribution on the order shows cart-share as the source, and tools like Google Analytics show where the visit came from.
Can I make a cart link for a customer myself?
Yes. In WooCommerce > Settings > Cart Share > Link Generator, pick products, quantities and coupons, add a campaign name if you like, and click Generate link. Send the link by email, chat or social media.
Which apps can shoppers share to?
WhatsApp, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Telegram, Email, SMS and Threads are on by default. You can turn on Pinterest, Reddit, Viber and Snapchat, or turn any app off, in the settings. On phones, Share cart opens the phone’s own share menu instead, so shoppers can use any app they have.
Does it add database tables or slow down my store?
No. Cart Share adds no tables and makes no requests to outside services, and its scripts load only on the cart page. The cart travels in the link.
Can developers add their own app or change the link?
Yes. Register an app with AlCartShare\SocialMedia\ShareProviderFactory::register() and a class that implements the AlCartShare\SocialMedia\ShareProvider interface. Filters change the link (alcartshare_url, alcartshare_base_url), the message (alcartshare_text), the app list (alcartshare_social_links) and the settings (alcartshare_settings). The alcartshare_processed action runs after Cart Share opens one of its own links.
